So after almost 2 years of weighting I recently received notification that my Black Diamond edition would go into production on 2/7.

Now that there is hope that it will one day arrive I'm beginning to consider winch options. Does anyone have any suggestions and/or pictures they can share with a winch on a Black Diamond edition? Based on some reading and research it would seem the Black Diamond is apparently the unicorn of editions and doesn't accept many winches.

Any help or suggestions is appreciated.

It depends on which bumper you get….I get my BD next week I stuck with the capable bumper….waiting on aftermarket solution.

There’s a dedicated BD thread somewhere here too.

Is there? I’ve searched but all I find are the “clubs” based on color. By trim would be super helpful!

Its not a black diamond issue, it's that there are few options for winches on the modular bumper. JCR now offers a winch plate: https://www.jcroffroad.com/product/BR6SB-WP.html

Rough country has this winch mount that a few people have installed under the modular bumper. A bit of cutting is involved. https://www.roughcountry.com/hidden-winch-mount-51054c.html?find=2021-ford-bronco-4wd-784415 . Don't believe this works for the 2.7-liter engine due to the intercooler.

Supposedly RC will also be coming out with a winch plate that is similar to the JCR option.

This dude nailed it.

JCR offers one - but in my opinion (subjective yall) $700 is simply too much money

RC has the under body option - but who wants to cut into their brand new vehicle unless they are truly skilled or plan on doing lots of mods (plus people argue it impairs approach angle)

RC does have a plate coming out, will definitely be under $700. People knock RC quality a lot... however this is simply a hunk of steel.. I am willing to take my chances.

Man, that hidden winch I was really pumped for, but I saw it doesn't work with the 2.7....

I've done some light offroading a ton in the past, but if I'm going to do much more, I'd like to feel safer with the winch, but since it's a daily driver, I didn't want too much on the Bronco.

Also the RC option is looking to be tucked in nice and high and tight. Whereas the JCR looks to stick out a bit further. I'm hoping the RC is a good price. But also I'm finding that more options are coming out over time, and since I won't need the winch until summer time, I'm holding out as long as possible to weigh my options.
