Absolutely true. The good thing is we will have 30-60k miles for someone else to figure it out. Depending on how hard we drive those first set of tires.

Yes if i run the stockers. I was thinking of having them switched to the 285s right when I take delivery. Thats why I'm trying to find out first.

If we don't get any information keeping the stock tires and running them dead for 50k would be the smart way until we find out for sure.

1: supposedly an option. Won’t know for sure until Build and Price is out
2: The resin is precolored, so when the top emerges from the mold, it is already the finished color
3: Wait for the build and price tool
4: There will be sound, how loud it is to you and if worth the $$$ to pay for the sound deadening headliner is going to be personal preference

I think fitting it on the same wheel will be fine. Im just wondering if there will be any rubbing issues? The Bronco does seem to have bigger wheel wells then most. So hopefully its ok. But then again I know the Badlands comes witg different suspension. So it should be interesting.

i want to do the same thing but worried also about clearance with the black diamond rim and suspension.

If I end up with the BD, I will figure out the tire issue day one. 285/75/17 or 295/70/17 for me. There is more to the suspension issue than some here seem to think. It is not just a different shock, but length, spring rate, control arms, etc. may be different.

It comes with a huge wheelwell, which is a plus coming from a Toyota that requires cutting and rewelding a body mount to put 33+ tires on. Expect to have to do something on the BD to not rub. Either trimming some plastic in the wheelwell or upgrading shocks/springs. Hopefully, it will just be at full articulation/full lock so it's drivable from day one.

Don't worry though. I'm your guinea pig as I'll be going big day one. I'll let you know what has to be done to make it work.

Anyone here leaning or buying the Black Diamond JUST for the seat covers and floor covering?

I wont off road near as much as many of you will, but this will be our go to vehicle to go to the beach with. I just dont want to drop $$$ on seat covers and rubber mats to cover.

I am hard core manual, so squatch won't be an option for me, but I am very interested in it's suspension for upgrade purposes. For me, ideal would be the high suspension (again, whatever that is) as an option for the BD outside of the squatch package. Otherwise I've got to figure out how much work it will be to modify suspension verse buying the Badlands. Front and rear coilovers plus control arms won't be cheap, but it won't be $6K either.

I'm also the kind of guy that will take a sawzall to a brand new vehicle too, so there is that.

It was a huge selling point for me but I can’t get that hideous grey plastic hard top out of my mind so it might be the reason I move up to the BL

Same I really hope when build and Price comes out they have a modular hard top in Black. Also would we not just be able to put a wrap on the hard top to make it black? I really want a black hard top, It'll flow with the Black Diamond. Carbonized gray with the black modular hard top. Cmon Ford! Get it together!

Exactly why I may just buy the BD. Wife and kid are on the beach at least once a week, the entire wash your feet, don't get sand in the Explorer ordeal drives me nuts at times. Lord knows I don't need the squatch in Florida but the rear locker on the BD would do the trick in the sand. Did have some vinyl covers on the Escape back in the day, much better than the cloth seats and covers for keeping clean.

Hoping for a soft top type solution, may opt not to keep the full hard top on. Could be nice to have the 2 front seat top panels on and something on the rear that could be rolled up at a moment.

I am hoping whatever the top is made from that raptor lining will stick. I know some plastics are an issue even with the adhesion promoter. I plan to line mine white for less than the factory option, if there is an option.
