Best vehicle shipping service?

I know I've seen this topic discussed in the past, however, seem to be unable to find the threads. I'm looking to ship the Bronco cross-country and would appreciate any input from owners experiences with the various services out there. I recall pricing can range depending if you want open-air carry or enclosed trailer. I am unable to recall the names of these services though. Any input would be appreciated!

I had mine shipped from Granger, Iowa to Florida. Dealer recommended the one service. I got a quote and it seemed high. So I googled and found other services. FWIW, the cheapest was $600. But I had zero confidence that my Bronco wouldn't end up in a container bound for a third-world country. I settled on RoadRunner Auto Transport (RoadRunnerAutoTransport.com). The booking was easy. My Bronco was picked up a day earlier and delivered 2 days later. Open trailer so it killed every bug along the way. My cost was $800. The highest quote from the dealer recommended service (don't remember the company) was $1600.

Keep in mind that any of the actual transport drivers are independent contractors. The auto transport companies are just an intermediary.

Thanks for your feedback @Beach_Bum. I did look at Road Runner and they gave a very competitive quote. If I'm not mistaken you can even pay more $ to have your vehicle located strategically on the trailer as to not incur road rash but am unsure which position that was. Appreciate your feedback though!

I also had a good experience with Roadrunner. I did the enclosed carrier option on mine. So, it was delivered bug free.

I had good-luck with Anything for a buck, they were out of Vermont, owners name was Larry the best I can recall, but that was many moons ago.

I wouldn't pay for placement on the carrier. My original booking was moved up a day when another independent carrier picked up the booking. It was a F350 with a goose-neck hitch. My Bronco was the only one on it. 2 days later, I had the Bronco in my driveway. Drove it down to the carwash and it was good as new.

You never know which carrier might take the job. They all carry insurance. If you are concerned, you can always opt for the enclosed carrier.
