Trust me, I know. I'm from Westchester County, NY originally and have family in NY, CT and MA still.

When I could get a job in the west in 2007 I moved and didn't look back .

Years ago I lived in Chandler and was dumb ass and moved back lol. Wife and I had little man 2 years ago and are looking for new house here and 800k gets us . All that NY money is here. We may be forced out of CT. We are thinking New Hampshire since I can keep same employment (tied by pension and have 6 more years to fully vest).

Years ago I lived in Chandler and was dumb ass and moved back lol. Wife and I had little man 2 years ago and are looking for new house here and 800k gets us . All that NY money is here. We may be forced out of CT. We are thinking New Hampshire since I can keep same employment (tied by pension and have 6 more years to fully vest).

New Hampshire is a nice place. My wife has an aunt who lives near Lake Winnipesaukee plus we've done a lot of hiking there when we were younger (the White Mountains are gorgeous).

Arizona cost of living is not what it used to be. In the heart of the housing crisis (ca. ~2011) you could pick up a beautiful house here for ~$150K or less. Now good luck getting anything single family for much less than ~$500K unless you live way out in the ex-burbs.

At least a lot of our construction is pretty new plus property and income taxes are quite reasonable still.

500k here is an absolute fixer upper. It’s crazy. Ah well. I like causing trouble here but in real life my kid is my world. His 2nd birthday is coming up and he has exact copy of BBR in ride on form lol
