So after speaking with some customers and installing the Baja Designs Reverse Kit on our own Bronco truck, we decided it was time for a slight change.

Now, the Reverse Kit Baja Designs offers IS a nice kit. They give you a tire mounted mounting bracket for the lights. However I wasn't happy with how close together the lights were.

After speaking with a few customers, we decided to come up with a bumper mounted option.

So here it is folks, the bumper mounted Reverse Kit w/Baja Designs Lights

https://www.4x4truckleds.com/202-ford-bronco-reverse-kit-w-baja-designs/

Ford Bronco Baja Designs Reverse Kit (BUMPER MOUNTED) 1632941577104

Our custom made wiring harness is designed to give you complete control over your reverse lights. You can choose to activate the lights from your upfitter switch and automatically while putting your truck in reverse. A built in diode prevents power from back-feeding into the factory reverse circuit, protecting your factory lights. This also means your reverse lights serve a dual purpose. Throw a set of S2 Amber Rock Guards on the lights and you've now got a set of chase lights for the trails.

The included KR Off-Road extension bracket allows the lights to hang from factory bolts under your truck. This bracket is made right here in the USA out of 11 gauge stainless steel (and powder coated black) ensuring a lifetime of durability.

QUICK TIP: You can alter the height of the Lights by flipping the Baja Designs mounting bracket upside down. This will bring the lights closer to your bumper or further away.

Included:
  • 2x S1 or S2 Lights (Your Choice)
  • 2x Vehicle Specific Mounting Hardware
  • Baja Designs Upfitter Harness (Used to tap into the reverse circuit at your tail lights)
  • CrystaLux Upfitter Wiring Harness (allows you to control your reverse kit from your upfitters AS WELL AS automatically while in reverse)
Available and shipping right now for only $284.99 (you can choose from S1, S2 Sport & S2 Pro lights). As stated, this kit allows you to activate your reverse lights from an upfitter (or if you have your own switch panel, via that). At the same time, if you put your truck in reverse the lights turn on automatically (don't want that feature? Simply don't install the rear upfitter harness, which taps into your factory reverse circuit).

And you can pick these up for free on the John Bull trail in Big Bear Ca.
Har har har. Unless you're doing rock crawling you shouldn't ever have to worry about snagging lights under your truck. I'd be more concerned with that exhaust pipe hanging down : )

I can't see where the second light is mounted. Do you have a straight on rear pic?

Lol. I’m joking, but my tj and jk have had outlet taco syndrome from that trail. So you are correct. I love the Baja design lights. I have a set for my soon to own bronco. I like your prewired setups also. Carry on with the good work.

Same place but on the passenger side. I didn't actually take photos as I was mocking up these shots. I have to re-route my wiring since my current setup has the lights elsewhere.

Do you have any idea on whether the flush mount SSC1’s could be mounted in the steel Badlands bumper? *after some drilling and cutting

I don't see why not. I don't have the steel bumper on my Outer Banks (I have the plastic one for some reason).

I like these a lot for chase lights, thanks for making a better mount! Looks like this Bronco is using them to spotlight all that free advertising on the back.

I can tell you from extensive personal experience... for those that actually do higher speed "baja" style off road driving, those lights mounted low like that will get absolutely BLASTED and destroyed over time. Pretty much anything front-facing underneath the vehicle towards the last 1/4 of the chassis will be essentially sand-blasted. Now this isn't the front of the light, granted... but the back and the wire connections will be highly corroded in time.

Almost need to also create some sort of rear-mounted shield for them... would help a lot.

Soooo buy the kit we sell where it puts the lights at the spare tire, problem solved... for others (like me) that prefer them under the bumper, this is a great solution.

I've got a set like this on my Raptor and i've never had any issues and I do a few off-road events every year.

I agree the tire spot is better for those that do high speed stuff. And it’s the “front” tires that do the damage, not the rears.

Just a heads up and maybe even a product improvement suggestion (the rear shields), not trying to step on toes.

There is no need for rear shields. We specialize in LED lighting for Ford Raptors, which do MUCH MUCH higher off-road speeds then Broncos will EVER do. We've never had a single customer report that their Baja Designs lights were messed up from off-roading, not once.

I think people THINK that anything below the bumper is automatically going to get destroyed, which is not the case. Unless you plan to slide your truck around on the bumper, you've got TONS Of other components that sit below the bumper then a pair of lights.

If you manage to mess up your lights under your rear bumper, then chances are your truck isn't going to drive because you've done some pretty massive damage to end up having that rear bumper scraping on the ground :)

Tire spot is still too low for chase lights in my opinion, but better than on the bumper.
Well chase lights are supposed to be up high so you can be seen actually, not low.

This is a reverse kit though, not chase lights (you can certainly use these as chase lights by throwing some amber covers on).

But basically anybody who's doing baja runs isn't going to take a stock bronco on the baja runs... they are taking trophy trucks, which the bronco is not.

They are also going to have more specialty light bars for chase lights/rear lights/etc...
