Not uncommon for me, on highway drives, to get about 18 MPG on the way there, and about 13 MPG on the way back - just because of prevailing wind. The difference between no turbo and a constant 6PSI boost is staggering.

I've started to adjust my highway speed based on what the boost gage does on long trips. Not really because I care about MPG, just because I'm lazy and want to minimize the number of times I have to get out and fill up.

With differences in tires, gear ratios, air pressures, lfits, etc - Bronco MPGs are all over the place.

Click on my signature, you can see every fill up I've done (68 as of the time I'm writing this) since I bought my Bronco in Sept 2021.

FWIW, this is "actual" calculated fuel economy based on kms travelled between fill-ups and amount of fuel used, not going by the dash display. My dash is very optimistic compared to reality.

Summer trip to the keys; we were around 14 mpg at ~80... It really hurt running premium 1k miles each way. Enjoyed the trip though. If i were to do it again I'd try eco mode. it did rule the bronco out for our spring trip to yellowstone. 2500 miles with a heavy foot... i'll take the atlas for this.

Just did two back to back road trips to St George Utah. About 300 miles each way.

After 8 months ownership My Badlands Sasquatch on 35’s gets about 18mpg around town.
But the 2 road trips had me averaging 13.6 mpg on the highway. One trip was loaded up with two adults and 2 children and luggage. The second trip was 1 adult 1 kid and minimal luggage. Difference was only .4 mpg for the “lighter” trip.
Is this normally what people are seeing?
It’s almost worth selling over.
I get it...but it varies for me...I have 6k on my 23 Badlands with sasquatch...I use Costco premium all the time...Today I'm getting 21 MPG around town driving in Economy mode...on the highway I usually get around 20MPG at 75MPH. Some weeks I get 17 around town??? Mine is inconsistent but I always drive in the economy mode and occasionally I have to nail it to spin up the turbos...which always knocks my MPG down 2/10's. Try Costco premium...it's cheaper than Quick Trip regular gas and see what you get. I'll be towing a 1500lb pop up soon I'll let you know what I get then too.

Some people get better MPG in Sport mode than Eco mode. I get better MPG with the Ford ProCal tune than without. Same thing on the 7MT - 5th gear for me is better MPG than 6th gear when I'm just cruising down the freeway.

It's kind of add - I know in the Sport, Eco mode can actually disable a cylinder and will give you better fuel economy (as long as you are just cruising, not going up and down hills and stuff). On the full sized, Eco mode really just kinda mutes the throttle and .. that's about it. I guess it closes the shutters on the intercooler for that extra 0.01 drag coefficient or something.

Kind of counter-intuitive, but it's all about keeping the engine out of prolonged boost. Most fuel-saving strategies revolve around keeping the engine at as low an RPM as you can, but on the Bronco that can result in it sitting in a continuous Boosted condition, which actually hurts your MPG.

What I've noticed with ECO mode, it seems to upshift instead of getting and staying in the power band. I notice less times of boost. All of that being said I am very heavy with the front ARB and winch and the rear custom bumper and winch with steel cable. Secondly, I only really pay attention to this, and use ECO on close commuter kind of drives (12 miles or less) if I am "driving" it I use my normal mode and drive how I drive... not I'm racing every car on the road, but aggressive without tail gating, if that makes sense.

Makes perfect sense. Most of where I see people who are successful with Eco are in commuter situations - like lots of starts/stops in traffic - where that muted pedal helps limit your acceleration and that helps keep the short spikes in boost down.

Most of what I drive is just long miles, and much of that in hills / windy roads, so different driving pattern will need a different strategy.

2. Stay below 70mph.
3. Air up to 38psi.
If you do just these two things, you should get reasonable mileage.

I have a 2-door Base Sasquatch and managed a little over 20 mpg the last two times I drove from Idaho to Moab and back. But I almost never exceeded 70 mph. It was especially tough trying to stay at that speed through Salt Lake County, from point of the mountain until about North Salt Lake. Crazy Utah drivers... ;)

If you set the display to show just the mileage circle, it can help you get better fuel economy. I currently have mine set to NOT show that, because otherwise I get obsessed with getting another 0.1 improvement and it takes away a bit from the joy of driving the thing.

LOL in those situations I drive it like my diesel; fast down the hill slowly backing off as it climbs to keep boost down. Of course that only works on rolling hills, Climbs I get to the speed quickly then keep boost pressure steady.

This is because you live in Utah, where we go 85 mph at elevation for 300 miles from SLC to st george. If you want better mpg get a new rig

Steady and slow speed nets the most MPG out of a brick in the wind. I get almost 23 MPG average in my 2 door Sas with 2.7. I drive 68 when the speed limit is 70 and back roads about 50-55. Cruise on most of the time and drive with a feather foot to get that MPG. I can barely afford it at that MPG and the awesome Bronco sits most of the time as I use a 35-40 MPG commuter car for my work commute.
