Badlands Leather And Washout Floor

I'm looking at getting another Badlands, but seems most of the dealers out there have or are ordering with the leather package on 4 doors. My two door Badlands had MGV and liked the washout floor aspect which I really wanted when searching now.

My main question would be if Ford offered the leather and washout floors vs carpet, would most of you take it that way vs MGV? Is carpet really the main reason people do not want the overall leather package? If you added washout floors to the leather package, you'd be able to have the power seats/rear cupholders/adjustable headrests which is nice in my opinion. I'm considering going leather only because of availability around me. And then down the road add the Armorlite flooring that just came out which looks really nice. I heard it was better than Fords wash out floors anyways. Hate to spend an extra $2k for leather then have to buy washout flooring. But the leather does look nice and like the fold down rear cup holders and power seat option. This vehicle will be used offroad.

One thing to note on my Badlands with washout floors and MGV. I did notice they were 1000 degrees when the top was off. Ive read the leather stayed a little cooler which I dont know if its really true or not. The other thing was I noticed the washout floors actually started to change color underneath the floor mats. So not sure how good of quality Fords wash out floor really is long term.

Aside from the washout floor, the MGV was a big selling point for me. Yes it gets hot, but I also love how easy it is to clean. I have five dogs that I take with me so the seats get plenty dirty.

My wife has a newer mustang with leather and other than the fact that it has cooling (not sure if Bronco leather gets that) I don’t care for it. It feels cheap and the driver’s seat is bursting at many seams. Curious to see how the MGV holds up.

tl;dr no, I would not have gotten leather.

We only got the leather because the wife wanted to justify spending 55k on a vehicle and leather with heated seats was the breaking point. I wish more than most things that they offered the leather with the washout interior. I hate the carpet and am considering just ripping it the hell out myself.

I'll add my .02c, we spent most of a Saturday driving Broncos and Jeeps back to back for my wife. Heated seats and steering wheel were a must for her. The Bronco was MUCH quieter than the Jeeps, and I assume the carpet was a contributing factor. I'd venture to say upwards of 90% of these cars don't leave the pavement more than like 5 times a year, if ever. Leather + carpet makes for a better road car, so I image the take rate would be low. As to how easy it would be for Ford to offer it and how it would impact P&L is another discussion.
Same with whatever sound deadening came with the top on my wife's Bronco.

When looking at ordering, I was not planning on getting leather or high package. I ended up buying from dealer stock and got both, hell I had to drive 3hrs each way just to get Hot Pepper Red.

I'm glad I did. The leather is worth it just for the adjustability. I love the 360 camera view and the 12" screen makes it easy to find and tap on what you want on bumpy roads. Others have reported that the 12" system is faster and more stable.

I've had rubber floors in other Fords, and they dried out and cracked over time.

I had black leather in my FE and MGV in my BL. The leather in the FE got way hotter than the mgv. What’s all done to your bronco? I see the picture and it looks real good.

As someone who’s owned the MGV in the new Bronco and leather in my other Fords, the MGV is no different to keep clean than leather. They both are super easy to clean and both require maintenance and treating. Hell, most “leather” these days is mostly just vinyl anyways. I just wish more than anything it did have the wash out floor option.

I’ve got the MGV and washout in my 2 Dr Badlands and love it. Never once considered leather because I off-road. The interior of this truck is never clean and I honestly don’t care. Nor do I care of any discoloring under the floor mats, because, why?

Ford doesn’t offer leather with the washout because they know those who get leather and power seats don’t wheel. No way some Ford power seats could take the beating I put this thing through.

If carpet were the only option, I wouldn’t have purchased the Bronco most likely. I also see no issue with the quality of the flooring; does what it’s meant to do, so I’m good with it.

Only way to get a moar door with washout is to order it. As for the hot vinyl, suggest a Bimini from J Tops. I don’t have one yet, but plan too later in the year so I can enjoy more top off wheeling. Had 2 hornets in the cab with me this past weekend; not fun. I killed both eventuallly, but that was a nervous 15 minutes.

I honestly don't really notice the difference between the leather seats and MGV.

Of course, I can tell which seats have the leather trim pieces stitched in by physically looking at it up close. But the vinyl is really good, and in terms of the overall "butt comfort", I don't notice a difference. Especially on the Badlands where it's the exact same color... it really doesn't matter to me.

Would I be against Ford offering the wash-out flooring with the leather? No, absolutely not. Cloth flooring does have some benefits in terms of sound dampening, and I think most people have the impression that cloth flooring is a little more "premium" than the washout flooring. So I definitely understand the choices Ford made, but I also understand the desire to have washout flooring.

Yeah, it seems like they are still almost all MGV on the Badlands version at least. Visually I cant tell a difference when comparing the two.

In the Bronco (and in most vehicles, actually), the major touch points—the part you sit on and lean against—are all leather, while the side bolstering and all of the non-touch points are vinyl. There are a few cars/trucks out there that have full leather seats, but it's usually limited to luxury brands. It's probably safe to say that most leather seats these days are actually leather-trimmed, and most people are none-the-wiser.

it's hard to find vehicles with any leather period now. It's all going to micro blends.
