So, I've got my garage floor all marked out for getting into the right spot to R&R the top on my Harkin Hoist, based on the backup camera guidelines. We've got some rainy weather coming for the next few days, so I put the top back on this morning, and when I was backing into place, I noticed the guidelines were not showing on the BUC. Checked all my settings, looked through that section of the owners manual, everything seemed normal, but no lines. After I got the top on, and restarted the Bronco, the lines were back. WTF?? Is this common? Am I missing something? With Ford OS QC, you never know.... 🙄 (I've had my Bronco just over a month, have not noticed this before now)

I use the same method when using my hardtop hoist. I have a reflector attached to the wall that I align the dotted line to and then 2 reflectors to either side that I stop the vehicle when the green lines appear to touch them in the rear view display. The guide lines have always been there except for the one time recently that the whole camera display only showed black. Waiting for the camera recall to be done. Your issue may be something to do with the recall as well .

What recall are you referring to? My FPA does not show any open recalls for my VIN....

Welp, solved my own problem, so thought I'd post back for anyone who cares....

It happened again, so I was determined to figure out WTF was going on. Here's what I discovered. If the tailgate is not fully latched, the grid lines disappear! When I'm R&R'ing the top, I'll usually just click the T/G on the first catch, since I'm opening & closing multiple times during the process.

So, there ya go.... tailgate not fully latched, lose your grid lines. 🤠

(Thanks Ford, for explaining that in the owners manual! 😉)

Good catch - I wouldn’t have thought of that
