So tonight I had a passenger in the back of my month-old HE ask me to unlock the doors to let her out. The doors were locked and pulling the door lever didn’t unlock hers like it does up front. I figured the child safety locks must be on. Nope. Checked both back doors and they are off.
I found the same condition true for both back doors: when locked, you can manually pull the lock switch to unlock it and then open the door. Those lock levers seem mighty stiff. But if you don’t unlock first, it takes TWO pulls of the door lever to open the door. The first full pull moves the lock lever out a bit but doesn’t open the door. If you release the handle and pull a 2nd time, it will open. I’m assuming this isn’t normal/correct.
Anyone had this issue and fixed it? Is something just in need of lubrication in the door?
EDIT: I read the manual. This is how it’s supposed to work.
