I read the 18 speaker B&O unleashed has speakers in the headliner and front headrests. I think headrest speakers would be ideal for when the top and doors are off. Too bad this isn’t in the Lux package probably because it can’t handle the open elements.

We might see the headrest speakers a few years down the line if they can waterproof the speakers to a level they are comfortable with. Or, perhaps they will not be available on the washout interior like powered seats. I think we are out of luck on headliner speakers, though.

Just make the speakers easily swappable (with proprietary B&O replacements), then you’ve got another way to make a profit from Bronco owners. If we ruin them, we have to buy more.

Everything else on the Bronco is modular. Why not the stereo system too?

Because easy to swap out means easy to quickly steal and no repairs needed to resell. You asked...

That's really making me want an F-150.

I went to a local Ford Dealership sat in an F-150 w/ B&O unleashed...wow.
You can feel the music and that’s exactly how I want it.

Waterproofing speakers is no big deal. I have speakers partially buried in the ground behind my patio. They've been there for years and get hosed down when dirty. They also get baked in the AZ sun and work like new.

yeah, I guess that’s true, but are headrest speakers really in demand? And doesn't the idea of theft go to everything in the Bronco? If you leave it open (or even if you don’t) can’t people go after anything that’s easily taken apart? Might come out and find your grab handles gone, or maybe even your doors! :D

are all the electronics in the interior REALLY waterproof??!! now we are talking about headrest speakers being waterproof?
do you REALLY DARE leave your bronco out in a downpour with the roof off?

I will avoid it, but I can almost guarantee it happens to me at least once before I get a soft top. This is why I am saying Ford will do it if they can waterproof it enough for them to be satisfied with it. That doesn't necessarily mean you can submerge them or that they will survive a downpour.

As it is, I would say the electronics are splash proof, but even that might be a stretch. We know Ford took precautions so that some light rain or a bit of water shouldn't be an issue, but we won't really know until someone tests it.

Sure. How else do you clean your vehicles? 😁

I have not owned a jeep since my college days, so I don't really know, but back then i use to leave my CJ5 out in the dorm parking lot uncovered in the rain .... it was once covered with snow as well .... use to go wheeling in the mud and just take a hose to all the inside including the dash cluster

I really dont know if you can treat any new wrangler like that anymore

Headrest speakers have been around for a while. Ford is a little late to the party.
