I'm following this. It seems like a hard (plastic) flap will get torn off on a rock while wheeling. Maybe a rubber flap would survive. Thoughts on that?
These Ford ones are actually really soft, not rubber, but floppy. they also come off fast for rocks. But, they would just bend back before any damage to fender or flair if they snag on something.

how do i check my pass points? i dont think i got any
Yeah….I finally stumbled across what this Ford Pass Points stuff was all about:
- first download the Ford Pass app on whatever App Store you use,
- fill in your info, including VIN, and there they are (if you’ve got any from purchases, I guess…..I don’t yet either)

Gatorback released the unbranded versions this week, you can get a set of 4 for $580.

https://www.sharptruck.com/2021-202...vable-mud-flaps-set-fits-with-rock-rails-only

The plastic 50 dollar ones are not meant for sasquatch tire sizes/flares and the gatorback ones are removable when you hit the trials..
I like the Gatorback ones, they are way better than the ones I put on. But I can buy a lot of trail gear for $600. That's just crazy for mud flaps. Mine were $85 delivered. For a set of 4.

If someone had 33 inch tires and are willing to DIY it think there is more value in the cheaper versions and replace them as the catch and snap. It would take 4-5 sets before the cost equalizes out.

For 35 inch tires, those same ford flaps takes more cutting/modification and has less coverage in comparison. To top if off, its pretty easy to tell its a DIY job with all the rough cuts. I have a feeling the unbranded no plate version of the Gatorbacks will be on sale (next year?) for $350 - $450 which is similar to the F150 prices.

I think there is a bit of a premium at the moment because they were released this week.

I posted this yesterday-
I've been looking at mud flaps for a while. With snow season, I needed something, even if temporary. They go on and off easy. This was my solution. 3" angle bracket and some stainless allen hardware and a little matte black paint. These are the cheap Ford ones. I think i got them on sale like $42 pair free shipping. They turned out rad.

This is the route I took too but used the scrap pieces I trimmed off as my “bracket” then used the metal clips that came in the kit to attach the inner side of the bracket to the flare. I also have double sided tape along all the edges that have plastic touching plastic. This way I wouldn’t have to drill the flare. Your finished product looks more polished but mine really only need to last until the aftermarket (or Ford) release a more affordable option than the Gatorbacks. I can’t justify paying what they are asking for flaps.

here’s mine:
