My main concern is an earthquake. Living where I do, bugging out really isn't going to be a realistic option. If (really it's "when") we get a big one, freeway overpasses are going to be down making the roads out impassable for days at least.

This being the case, home will be the place to get to and the equipment I have my Raptor is geared toward being a "Get Home Vehicle".

Unless of course we get hit with a tsunami. Then we'll be in a bit of a pickle...

Just make sure you have 35+in tires and can float.

Nope, my bugout vehicle is my RV and tow the Bronco, I have property way up in the Sierra mountains, with all of the stuff I need, and no neighbors closer than a mile.
Did anyone confirm the Bronco is towable with all four wheels on the ground?

Its funny how the title of a thread has you thinking something totally different. This is what I was expecting... I've been working too much!

If it’s bugout time, I’m going out like Thelma & Louise

Bugging out to where? Unless you’ve got a prepared location, you essentially become a refugee. When we sold our last home, we moved out several weeks prior to closing on our new home. We ended up living in a borrowed RV in our friend’s front yard, kids still going to school, wife and I still going to work. And the weather started getting cold during this time. We did have the convenience of hot coffee and breakfast with our friends in their kitchen, and the use of their shower. But living out of a suitcase, with most of my possessions in storage...that got old.

Speaking of, is there a good place in a 4 door to fit a decent rifle case? The hump between the back and back seats means you can't slide one in that way. Is there space under the back seats to fit one in sideways?

Yes, but I'm getting a 2 door, so I'm limited in how well I'll be able to sustain an effective bug out due to limited room for storage.

I mean, why else would the Modular Hard Top have the gunners hatch? Gotta mount the 50 cal somewhere, right?

The wife will love operating it when we commute to work together on Fridays.
ammo is getter harder to find. I might opt in for the M249 package.

Bronco would be good for a weekend then you'd be living off the land. Bronco Sport has the similar possibilities as does a Raptor or Tremor. A whole lot depends on the emergency.

My 27ft winter prepped motor home is fully fueled, a solar panel on roof, provisioned, with a nearly 700 mile range. Provisions include canned and dry foods, 50gal water. Accessories include, camp tools, camp rifle, crossbow and some misc stuff. Unplug home power and go.

Prepper? Not the intent. We're retired and like to just pick up and go when the mood strikes.
