Thank you sir. Much appreciated. While I wish I could tell beforehand what other programmable features are there, but right now I just need to program a keypad. I guess I could do it at a ford garage as a one time thing instead of spending money here.
I do wonder if windows behavior during car lock can be controlled with frds, if someone happen to come across this thread and had a license to check I’ll appreciate it!

do I need to use voltage maintainer for when programming features with forscan? It sounds like operation is very quick so doesn’t necessarily require it since it takes time for the battery to drop significantly.
For quick FORSCAN changes, I don't use a battery charger. I just make sure my battery is above 12.4v and go to town. FORSCAN really never takes very long to do anything. Maybe 60-90 seconds to write to the Body Control Module, which has the largest amount of code for any of the modules I've accessed.

Programming a keypad should be quite simple with FDRS as the wizards are pretty straight forward. FDRS is easier to use but I feel like the stakes are higher as you can't make a backup of your entire Bronco before you start making changes and updating modules.. FORSCAN allows you to very quickly restore from a backup and set your Bronco back to factory settings if needed - no harm, no foul.

The charger we use has a power supply function to keep the vehicle voltage constant at I believe is 14.1V. Ford say much above that or below 12V can cause issues with programming. Not as if we don't already have enough problems, voltage is one thing we can control. You will need to purchase an IDS/FDRS license from Motorcraft. If it's just programming a key pad, take to the dealer and save yourself a lot of money and headaches.
