Here is another option I installed on Friday. Rugged Radio plate. It requires some cutting, but the antenna wire is completely hidden. And as a bonus it works with the Rugged Ridge Ditch lights.

Just tossing this out there....I don't know how many miles the Midland 275 normally works, however...

When I had my Midland in my Wrangler, I just took the magnetic antenna that came with it and from under the dash slid the antenna up between the dash and the inside of the windshield so that a majority of the antenna was sticking out in the corner...worked great, barely noticeable.

When I transfer the radio to my Bronco, I noticed there was no gap between the dash like the Wrangler. So I just took the magnetic base and stuck it to the driver side kick panel as high as I could get it....this was terrible, and my first time out with other Bronco owners, I would lose the signal as soon as We would get separated by Hill or two.

So come to my point. As a last ditch effort before switching over to a ghost antenna and buying a bunch of extra stuff to mount it, I notice that if you take the driver's side grab handle off, there's a lot of area up there. So I took my antenna and worked it up behind the grab handle (just coming up higher from the inside of the kick panel) and ended up finding out you can push the antenna up into the A piller trim, right up against the windshield..... So basically the antenna is hidden just inside the plastic trim right where it meets the windshield in the lower corner.

Was blown away with the difference....range was over a mile in the hills.

And all it cost me besides what came stock with the radio was a couple cuts because that dash metal is sharp!

Where did you get the bracket for the hood? I have a Ghost Antenna on order will it work with that? I tried the mountains 2 metal but doesn't fit with my Diode Dynamics ditch lights.

Yes, it will work with a ghost antenna. I think I got it on EBay. Currently in Moab so can’t verify. They make different types of the same style. I forget the name, but you have to make sure you get the correct GRMS antenna mount style.
NMO I think, but make sure.
If you still need it, I can get the info when I get back home.

Scrap piece of 1” square tubing with a 3/8” hole drilled through it and screwed to the outer cowl screw near the mirror. Makes a perfect (and FREE) antenna mount
