This thread make me want a white hard top even more. it will be better at reducing the heat gain in the sun.

Most of the Jeep sound deadening for the hardtops is boom mat, a 1" thick rubbery foam that's peel and stick. They say it can reduce sound by 3-4 decibels. I'd say it's around 4 lbs for a 2 door. It'll give you some insulation as well from heat and cold blasting the top.
We consistently and conservatively see a reduction by 3 to 6 dB. We have several customers that have reviewed with dB meters getting even more than that, but we like to be as realistic as possible when going over features & benefits. You can definitely notice it. The radio sounds more clear and phone calls are so much better for me, anyways.

How do you guys know how loud it will be with or without the sound deadening? Do you have Broncos in your driveway?
There are a lot of comparison reviews using a dB meter with and without headliners in Jeep Wrangler hard tops. The Bronco tops should essentially be the same. Someone else posted a video from JKG&G and he does a pretty good job explaining the difference.

I added Hothead headliner to my Jeep and it made a considerable difference in sound and radiating heat. I will definitely add to my Bronco.
Thanks for the support! We will be rolling out our Hothead Headliners for the Bronco as soon as possible.

That's good news, do you think you will be at similar price points with the Jeep JL 2 DR headliners?

We'll have to see how much material and labor is involved in making them. It's hard to say since we haven't been able to get up close in personal, but I don't imagine the 2 & 4 door options being far off from the JL2 & JL4.

Once we have more information, we're going to notify everyone that wants to be updated. Feel free to click the link in our signature and give us your contact info and you'll be the first to know.

For every 3 db it doubles so 3-4 db is pretty significant,
3db is not double, 10db is twice as loud to the ear.....3db is an audible difference though

I wonder how the aftermarket hardtop liners will install, now that Ford is shipping hardtops with OEM fabric already installed. Might need to tear out the OEM fabric to install aftermarket. Not sure how strongly the OEM fabric is affixed to the top or ease of removal.
