Well you can do things two ways...Right & again & it always cost more to do it again ;)
You didn’t answer the question. There are thousands of parts required for each Bronco. What would you do when a part wasn’t available and the line was running at a cost of 200 employees @ $50 to $75 per hour plus overhead costs. The last plant manager probably lost his high dollar job just because of this issue. Its east to say “Do it right the first time” but vendors are typically not honest with delivery schedules. Been there done that….

746 days for delivery, what's another month or two :sneaky: ? You do what Ford is doing, building what they can but they just need to ensure they build it right the first time.
It's not like they are kitting these on the line, that is what the scheduling is all about. They build the parts box for the VIN & blend it on the line.

I'm sure something just got mislabeled as they are covered in plastic until it gets to the dealer. It'll get sorted so I'm not going to lose any sleep over it.

LOL. I was just wondering if the guy who ordered leather seats and ended up with a mis-matched MGV seat bottom is on this forum or not, and if they will post in this thread.

I believe the seats are in-line vehicle sequenced at the supplier so this is most likely a mis-queue on their end…Ford will hit them up for a corrective action and a nice charge back.

As someone else mentioned, it would be hard to tell the difference with the plastic on the seats at the plant.

LOL come on man. Stop making excuses for Ford. We're talking about a massive company with a logistics system that plans for every single detail. It should not allow a vehicle to get on the line when a part needed is not in "stock".

If, somehow, a vehicle is on the line and a part is missing...the vehicle should be removed from the line and stored until the correct part is available. A different, non-matching part should never be thrown in and delivered to the customer.

It's hard to tell the difference looking at a glance out of the plastic, but you can feel difference. ;)

Reminds me of when I went to pick up my 1977 Firebird, I sat in the driver seat and looked over at the passenger seat and it was velour, the other three seats were vinyl. The salesman smiled and said we will fix that, do you want velour or vinyl? Ford must be going back to 1970's quality control :)

My '21 BB Sasquatch 4-door has 3 matching door trim panels, and one odd, Hi-series one. The FRONT driver/passenger, & rear driver all have hard, MIC/polypropylene rollover inserts (tan) that it's supposed to have, and the REAR passenger side has a soft, in-mold grain laminate (tan) one, like the LUX package vehicles have.

Yes, that vehicle is out there somewhere. Chances of being on here might me slim to none

Putting vehicles on the line when parts aren’t available didnt used to happen…then came covid and the global supply train wreck that ensued. Now there’s a whole mountain of vehicles parked waiting on parts. Definitely not an ideal way to do business, but shutting down a profit centre for months wasn’t going to happen either. They had a plan; executing it was a whole other challenge.

I doubt this vehicle had a non-matching seat knowingly installed. The plants don’t keep stockpiles of random parts anymore. As I stated above, I think this is a seat supplier issue that unknowingly got through the plant.

You have absolutely no idea how automotive manufacturing works!

Well I'm happy to say that after a long drive the issue has ben resolved. The Ford Rep remained outstanding in seeing this issue through. Once the Service Manager had all the info he was great as well in getting this organized to be replaced.

I am also happy to report that I was getting 20 MPG with 37's while stuck in traffic for most of the 180 miles down & 19 MPG on the way back on more open hi-ways, so that was more than the 15 I was expecting :) .

I also drive with a light foot ;).

Does it have the cup holders too? If it does you should just keep it that way.
