Android Auto Won't Go Full Screen

I'll push the little expand and contract button next to the Android Auto symbol, but the small side screen never actually goes away. Does anyone's Android Auto actually go full screen? I'm in a Bronco Badlands 2022...

That's full screen for Spotify, waze, etc. Only google maps will extend as a single app across the entire screen. (satellite view full screen is pretty cool)

Unfortunately it didn't work in Google maps either. I saw another post where a guy mentioned he has a Samsung s23 and is also having issues with fullscreen maps on Android auto. I'm on a Samsung s21. Maybe it's a phone specific problem? Anyone having success with a Samsung?

Definitely seems like Android Auto is lagging behind the times in general...

Have a Samsung 21 and no full screen.

S22 here. Noting goes full screen in AA.
Not much works with it.
Something is definitely not right. Is it the app, phone or sync?
Sit and wait for the magical update that fixes it.
Waze is supposed to be getting an update to go full screen.
I'd prefer a fix for calls, texts and music. None of it works right in AA or Carplay in my vehicle

I have an S21 and my google maps goes full screen. I recently recieved OTA update which updated my android auto/maps to go full screen.

I have S23 and see it go full screen 1/2 the time. It depends on the connection, wired/wireless. The type usb cable makes a difference as well.

I have a Droid A51 and Badlands. On split screen mode I touch the Google maps symbol and the map goes full screen.

I don't even have the expand button next to the android auto icon. What am I missing? Latest car software and updates on my S24.
