I was one of the lucky build that was able to get a 4dr Hardtop. I took delivery early December and was able to enjoy the top and doors off twice. The first time removing it, I did it with the help of my brother. The second time, I was feeling a bit more adventurous and did it myself.
It wasn't that heavy, just had to find the center for balance.
Cold weather came and I haven't taken the top of since but we've had a nice streak of warm weather the past few days so I thought the top needed to come off.
I had done it before without a problem, figured this would be the same. Well I just barely avoided disaster. I got the top of and walked it into the garage to store. Well I just bought some saw horses and they were a bit lower than I anticipated. While crouching down the weight of the top shifted forward. I had to put all my strength into sprinting forward about 3 steps then throwing my foot against the garage wall to keep from crashing into it. The back window was up (I think the main cause for the imbalance) and is a miracle it didn't crash into the garage door railing.
I regained my composure, carefully placed the top on the saw horses and took a few minutes to realize what I almost lost.

I'm not sure what the turnaround time is for replacing the glass on a hardtop but I'm so thankful I don't have to find out. I won't be taking that risk solo anymore.

It’s awkward but doable. I solo it into the grass next to driveway several times. I won’t try to put back on solo again though…….

When reading the header I was fully expecting you to say that you tried to wax it! 🤣

if you have a garage, need to setup a lift system.

Its on my to do list soon as weather warms up.

Same - will be engineering a few pulleys and some hooks to pull the hardtop up, and then simply drive forward out of the garage.
