Has anyone tried to aim their aftermarket fog lights in the capable bumper?
I recently installed the Baja Designs Squadron SAE fog lights in my capable bumper. They look great and are plenty bright, but the aiming looks very low to me. The top of the beam is only 30 or so feet in front of the car.
It doesn't look like they are designed to be aimed in any way. I'm sure I can just shim the bracket, but I was hoping someone else had experience with this.
Thanks.

I've spent the past year trying to think of a way to aim my new fog lights. Their design doesn't allow adjusting once installed. I also have a capable bumper.

The original fog lights can be adjusted while in the bumper. The right fog light is easiest. Also the original lights are adjusted too low.

So...

I've come up with a procedure that should work.

1. Adjust the right side fog light before removal.

2. Take a plywood panel and drill appropriate holes so you can mount one original light and one new foglight side by side.

3. Mount panel so lights are aimed at a wall. Distance isn't critical, you took care of the distance in step one. Farther is better, maybe 25 feet or so.

3. Turn on the original fog light and mark the beam cut-off.

4. Turn off original light and turn on new fog light.

5. Shim or adjust new fog light so cut-off matches the original light.

6. Mount new light with shims if needed. Check alignment at 25 feet.

For trivia buffs, this process is known as using a transfer standard.

I feel like a dingus.
I fiddled with the lights for a good while last night and then again this morning and really wasn't sure how I would attack aiming these fog lights, hence this post. This evening, I thought, "What if I just push on the light?" Turns out the light sits just far enough from the bezel that it can move up and down a couple of degrees. The lights are aimed now, using the above graphic.
I hope this thread helps someone else in the future.

How Does your mounting Bracket looks like?

I don't have Baja design fogs but I installed KC Hilites Fogs and had the same issue. The way I solved it was placing a frewwashers betheen the bumper base and the fog base, retracting the mounting bracket a few mm so I had space to adjust them.

This exact light is on my purchase list. How do you like it? How's the output? Too much, too little or just right? Thanks!

I have Both Flex era 3's. I'm running Regular Flex Era 3 as ditch lights + Flex Era 3 SAE Dual mode as Fog lights.

The regular Flex Era 3's are really good, I'm running the Combo Lens and they do a great job.

The Flex Era 3 SAE / Dual mode are way less powerful, But expected as they are Road legal. They do a good job replacing the OEM Fogs and the spot light bring a little more light for far away visibility.
