After a year pause my vinyl is tearing. Any suggestions on a fix?

I’d like to do something before the year gets worse. Aside from doing a whole seat cover anyone have an idea of how to prevent it from getting worse?

No idea except use a step to get over the side bolster when getting in and out.

I would talk to your dealer as this could be a warranty issue.

Stop sliding out of your seat when you get out of the vehicle. If you don’t slide out it won’t get any worse. If you get it fixed it will prevent it from ever happening again.

Looks like if still under warranty- they should cover this seat cover

Looks like vinyl seats to me. Ford may try to sling the “but it’s Marine Grade Vinyl and boat seats last forever” koolaide and if people slid in and out of seats in a boat 50 times a day the same way you have to slide out of the seats in a high clearance truck they would be all ripped at the seams too.

But, that’s just me, I’m sure there will a lot of the “I have 500k on my Ford pickup and the vinyl seats are mint” posts to prove me wrong.
