So your checking account number/name, routing number are now in their system when they get hacked/ransomwared? Brilliant!

At least with CC you may have some protection, but a straight shot to your funding source? ☠

I would be very careful with this.

I believe that a simple weekly mass email update could go a long way in keeping customers informed. It could include details like: "The specific issue we're facing is <problem>. Our solution is <solution>, and although exact timeframes have been fluid in the past, for this update, pre-orders are projected to ship by <ship date>, with local installation timelines around <install date>."

Is it really too much to ask for this level of communication? I completely understand if ADV or B6G is unable to respond to individual comments (and there's a slim chance they'll even see this)...
What's worse is they don't seem to be checking in out here anymore:

ok,
im a first half hour orderer feb 2022
i got the same response
November
I said November has 30 days
they are aware of that and i will be notified when its ready to be shipped.
no more supply issues, etc. just a matter of putting it all together.
WHY DO I NOT HAVE A WARM CUDDLY FEELING.

I was offered a refund, I DONT WANT A FRICKEN REFUND, I want my top that was promised heading towards 2 yrs ago. If I was under 3000 miles away I would swing by and see whats going on.
I hope this isnt vaporware and the new orders are paying for the refunds

Please, whatever you do, do NOT put your checking account# and routing information in an email

i dealt with banks as a treasury manager.
go with your credit card.
everything gets hacked
make sure you have a firewall
They offered to send a cheque as well, so another good option.

First Email Response Today: "We currently do not have any more supply chain or quality control issues which took up a big amount of production time. We are in final production, but at a slower rate than we EVER expected. We expect your hardtop to ship November (we are looking at early November!).
We are more than happy to offer you a refund if you decide you do not want to wait any longer. Again, we deeply apologize for these very frustrating delays. We feel very confident in this ship date as there any no more problems that are out of our hands."

Second Email to my Follow-Up Questions: "The slowness of production was completely due to the supply chain delays. We had to sit back and wait for the delays to be resolved before we could start final production. This was completely out of our control and set us back much longer than we ever expected. We feel confident about this date as those hiccups have been taken care of.
Influencers are not receiving the hardtop, nor would we ever ship them out to influencers when customers have been waiting for so long. We sent out 16 beta testing tops (not production tops) to industry experts that we can trust for feedback.
I totally understand the frustration! We are definitely trying to get your top shipped out as quickly as we can."
This seems like doublespeak to me.
First, they say it was all supply chain issues ( we were told for months, they were just waiting on rubber to COMPLETE final assembly).
And they had to sit back and wait for the suppliers ( again, just the rubber, we were told)..

then, they say as final assembly ramped up, they ran into foam injection and paint issues…
why weren’t those issues discovered and resolved while they were sitting back waiting on rubber to arrive???

NONE of this makes sense. To me, being “ready for final assembly” means all parts are manufactured/painted/passed QC and are just waiting for the rubber gaskets to be inserted before shipping.

Something stinks here.
I was told in December 22 my hardtop was “just around the corner”.
I have no plan to go into 2024 still waiting…

The more people that request a refund, maybe they'll get the hint... Just sayin'

Wow, this is a hot mess now. A really hot mess. The "Supply Chain" excuse is starting to wear thin in many industries. It's just not going to cut the mustard anymore.

Not sure what happened at ADV, but this current crop of excuses is not going to cut it, especially with competition delivering on products, and more doing research to create and supply tops.

Honestly, I don't blame em. It'd be pretty tough having to form better answers to us all when it's been a month since we've heard from them....
