Me too. Got my refund March 2023. Got the AC hardtop May 2023. Best decision I’ve made.

Any reasoning? It was pretty recently they said they’d start shipping out after the install video, which would be July.

@ADV Fiberglass can you share any details on this further delay please?

We are ramping up on final assembly which is going slower than anticipated to ensure the quality is consistent across all hardtops. We are working night and day to get these tops finished as quickly as possible. Yes, they will ship after the install video is released.

We will admit that timelines are disappointing but there is nothing disappointing about the quality of the hardtop. We took EXTREME measures to ensure this is the best product on the market now and for the foreseeable future. We have done extensive research on the competition (OEM, AC, etc) and respectfully, nothing comes even close to the engineering quality and product quality. We are doing everything in our power to speed up the shipments. We got extremely behind schedule because of supply chain delays and now we are playing catch up.

I also think once these start going out the door, their new price after the pre-orders are filled will likely jump up, making us feel better on being early adopters.

Indeed you are correct. We will be raising the price once the customer orders start shipping. Pre-order pricing is considered the discounted pricing.

I think another thing that needs to be considered is we all payed for shipping (unless being installed locally). I haven't been following shipping costs lately, but I assume, like everything else, they've probably gone up since then. There would have been some form of "risk" to ADV on this cutting into their margins.

Correct, shipping costs have gone up much more since the beginning of the project and we are covering the extra costs. The only thing we do not cover is a liftgate if the customer did not originally select that option.

For home delivery. If there is no unloading dock a liftgate would not be needed.

Edit: when placing the order (it's been so long lol) I believe you had to select home delivery. Not sure if it actually mentioned liftgate or not.
