I guess I got onto the ADV mailing list. Too bad the 10% doesn't apply to the hard top. 🤣

I think from what APG claims that ADV got 8.5 million from the hardtops. 4.4 of that was sent to APG for hardtops that never came. That leaves 4.1 million. But, as people have said in this thread, people were getting refunds up until this whole thing was dropped. What if ADV just ran out of money from all the refunds they gave?
This is actually an interesting angle. Again, we may never know. But if ADV panicked seeing APG was about to announce the tops were going out, and they'd run out of funds on their end to fulfill their prior sales, they may have driven the deal into the ground, hoping litigation would obscure that they couldn't continue what seems like a charade. The crux is if APG was imminently about to release a top or not, at scale, to which ADV wouldn't have been able to ship. 1250 is a lot of shipping, plus returns, etc.

Oh we got discounts for sure but that’s because of OUR relationship with companies. It was not because of APG. We used OUR wheels, OUR tires sponsored by nitto. We got all the armor and sliders from Next Venture Motorsports who sponsored us for years. Spicer provided the axle set, Baja Designs supplied the lights and that’s again All Due to OUR relationship with these companies and has nothing to do with APG or anyone else’s money so did we receive discounted or free parts, absolutely! But that’s due to our working with these many companies. Was our labor discounted from APG? Absolutely, why wouldn’t it be? We will be the only APG bronco being used and abused and taken to events all over the country. We are a business and have to operate as such but you can ALL be rest assured that no matter what we get for free or discounted we will ALWAYS be real and truthful and forthcoming with any problems, failures or changes that any of these companies or parts have while in use. Weather they are damaged from misuse or fail due to poor design or anything in between. ALL companies we work with are told that we will never lie on video about any parts failure or issues we encounter while testing the products.
This was just clearly bad timing on us having a bronco built but I still wouldn’t change a thing. APG has been absolutely amazing to work with. The products produced have been nothing short or amazing the the craftsmanship is incredible and top notch. When these hard tops are finally available people will be very happy with them. George is a stand up guys and only wants to produce the best possible products from his company. No corners cut and nothing left on the table. We know nothing about the dealings with ADV and APG but they need to work this out and I hope all of you get your products because you will absolutely not be disappointed because even our prototype is an amazing product and the little issues it does have were already addressed and fixed.
If you have anything else to say please just be respectful and kind and I have no problems answering anything you want truthfully but I won’t give time of day to anyone to just bashes or slanders us over baseless accusations.
And for the people who said we’ve done plenty wrong in the past… look in the mirror, I’m sure you aren’t perfect. NOBODY is perfect and nobody makes every decision correctly. We all make bad choices and live and learn.

Well, you are "affiliated" with APG in the sense that you accepted a prototype hardtop from them, and even after the fiasco of people apparently losing thousands in this mess, have still been promoting APG and the idea that APG may be offering the hardtop in the future.

Which on that last point, I don't think you or APG have adequately thought that through. Imagine 6 months from now, APG announces abracadabra, they have worked through the "issues" with the hardtop, and will be selling it to customers. The hardtop that arguably was funded partly on the backs of people who lost thousands of dollars! How is that going to go down? Do you really want to be "affiliated" with that by promoting it?

I mean yesterday you were talking up APG and their hardtop as "one hell of a piece of engineering", and how you would promote it "when it’s ACTUALLY available and ready to ship" ... the day after people learned they are not getting the hardtop and are out thousands of dollars. Too soon junior.

Props to you guys for actually off-roading with the products you use, but in terms of your business I'd treat ADV/APG and their hardtop like it's radioactive.
You're assuming that it's just gone, the alleged $4.4mm ADV gave to APG. If true, we have no idea how that particular detail will shake out; like, will APG say stuff it to the order holders and sell those funded tops to others full cost? We don't really know what's going to happen, or how this will shake out.

My guess is if it ends up in bankruptcy court, customers may need to be made whole or in part, e.g. sell the tops and reimburse order holders at some discount, say $3-4k returned when the tops are sold. Or APG may sell those tops at a discount to order holders that doesn't leave them holding the bag.

The thing is, we just don't know and angry fist shaking doesn't make any of this true.

As far as I know APG was NEVER going to sell the hardtops on their own. They were only using distributors like ADV and ADV was the first and only distributor to begin with. I don’t actually know this and I don’t know how many distributors there are or will be but the only hardtop sales APG was doing was for their “in house” builds.
there is no reason do distance ourselves from anyone at this point. It’s an amazing build and a dream build that has been amazing and is performing flawlessly (minus the bent factory raptor tie rod)
Nobody is building anything like APG is, with the attention to detail and the high end products used. Should everyone quit buying ford broncos all together since their factory hard tops are crap? Absolutely not. One thing does going wrong does not define a company.
Big car companies get sued all the time for faulty parts, recalls etc. I will not demonize an amazing company over 1 product they have spent millions on creating and Perfecting.
If ADV wouldn’t have sent out a pre sale option then nobody here would have any problems. Seems to me ADV jumped the gun when they should have kept it in their pants until the product was actually ready. APG didn’t pre sell anyone any hard top at all did they?
where would this whole thing be if AVD didn’t open pre sales on a product “in development”

The accusation is the top you have wouldn't exist without the funding from ADV (allegedly). Hence, fruit from the poison tree. Thing is, it's an accusation at this point, and nobody here has any real idea how APG is funding what they're doing. Just what ADV has said and speculation about what APG did with those alleged funds.
