I just received this sponsored advertisement on IG, and they have over 78,000 followers!!! What???

I immediately clicked the "shop" button, and the rest is history.

If I order it tonight I should have it the first week of June!

No way to know for sure if they are being honest or deceptive. I don't know what to think anymore... Other than the fact that if I ever need a replacement hard top it is unlikely that it will be from ADV.

I imagine they are getting plenty of orders to cover us that got our money back. If they can keep the orders coming in, it's not that big of a deal for them. They got our money to fund this project and now other people just take our spots. I'm a little salty about it. It probably would keep me from buying from them again.

It's a good lesson, that I needed to learn.......again. Don't get in and fund anyone's R&D project.

There are platforms for that. Indiegogo and Kickstarter are very successful for that type of funding. But, any project that I have backed - I always get clear and concise updates on a regular basis. Even when there are delays - you’re given explanations and at least a flippin’ apology.

We don't know if the repeatedly missed deadlines are outright lies, or just incompetent supply chain management. When stuff happens my initial goto position is to attribute it to errors of omission rather than commission. If they are lying outright then they are violating a bunch of laws in addition to screwing their customers. I will admit that it sure looks suspicious at this point.

I don't think ADV set out to deliberately scam or deceive anyone, BUT they were pretty shady with some of the things they said :
-"We're just waiting for ONE MORE component to arrive" (when in truth, it doesn't seem they had ANY of the components here in the US).
-"Made in the USA" (when they really aren't, which they've now re-worded).

Not to mention the things they just won't say:
-Where are these manufactured?
-Where's the headliner content?
-Where's the install video?
-What's the effing holdup?

They're now that kid who keeps being told "If I catch you lying again, you're going to get it!"
"Guess I'll just plead the fifth, then..."

I'm in Batch 3 (w/ Sound Deadening & Wiper) and reached out to their support today because like many of you, I've been worried about the lack of updates and no one in this forum has yet to take delivery yet. I originally ordered in Sept 23' and was given an original delivery estimate of Nov, was then told late Dec, then the first email update in Jan saying I was in Batch 3 w/ a Mid-March delivery.

Here's what I got today.

Hey George,

We haven't shipped them out yet, but there will be an announcement as soon as the first orders begin shipping.
Our manufacturing facility is experiencing severe labor shortages, and the schedules that they had provided us initially were unfortunately inaccurate - we expect to have your order shipped in May. There's a long backlog of orders we have to get produced and we're working hard to get these completed as soon as possible.

I really appreciate your patience throughout this process - you'll receive another update from me in the coming weeks. Please let me know if there's anything else I can help you with!
