Anyone added light duty (1/2 inch) D-ring tiedowns to the rear seat backs? I peeled the upholstery back a bit and there is thin metal sheet back there. Thinking of drilling an 11/64 hole through the upholstery and sheet metal then using 8-32 screws and fender washers to add 6 D-rings: two to the outside edges of each seat, and two down the middle of the cab (six total). Need a way to tie down relatively light bins of camping gear to keep them from sloshing around off-road.
@Ford Motor Company has three tiedowns back there but their placement is not particularly convenient when the seatbacks are down. I am sleeping in the back most of the time when when I am offroad so I don't want a molle panel back there. I tried these cloth + velcro molle panels but they are not robust at all. Waiting for the Mabett seat back protectors to arrive on Monday to see if they are firmer and can meet the need.
Thoughts? Any critical wiring back there I need to be aware of?
