Hey, what would you recommend for rust protection on these screws. My caps blew off in some tough winds and waiting for replacements. I was going to use WD-40, but if there is something that will last longer or would be a better option?

Nail polish is my favorite.

You have to reapply every time you remove the nuts, but it's kept it rust free.

A real heavy grease will work. It protected against salt air when I was in the Navy. Also grease won't cause problems threading nuts on or removing them.

I use CorrosionX. It is used in aircraft for protection and they have several different weights. It ends up a dry film and it really works well i use it on all hardware and bare aluminum. Keeps it from corroding/white powder. Because it dries, it won’t attract dirt and sand etc. Great for electronics and connectors for the same reasons. I think Amazon has it but not the lowest price.
