I installed the DV8 Spec Series bumper on my 2023 Badlands and used their relocation bracket. At first the ACC worked very well. About an hour into a 2-hour trip, i noticed a few times the Bronco would speed towards a car in front of it and I would have to manually slow down. Then I got an error message saying ACC was not available because the sensor was blocked. I thought maybe the angle changed or something, but when I got home I checked and it was still vertical. Seems very weird that it could work and then not work without something changing. Location with this DV8 bracket is high on the driver's side.
I'll update if I can get it working again, but in the mean time, anyone have any ideas or suggestions?

I have the same thing. It is an intermittent issue for me as well. I have just learned to tolerate it. I been lazy and not tried to discuss the issue with DV8. Keep us posted.

Vendors never mention this BUT relocate ACCs with caution. Sometimes you get it right or it is not right and you have issues.

The only sure way to get it back to OEM is a dealership has to recalibrate the sensor BUT most dealerships will not touch it because they will be liable.

Some advice .. if an aftermarket bumper makes you relocate the ACC then walk away.

Give it a little time. I remember that happening a few times after I first relocated mine back in february of 2022. After that It's like the system relearned itself. It hasn't done that since and I use it all the time.

The aim of that module is critical. Even once it aimed to get the message to go away, the system’s function is compromised. The system was engineered to have the sensor mounted where it was originally. In the dealership where I work we have dealt with several of them relocation kits. They can be a challenge.

Couldn’t agree more. I’d love to replace my bumper but I absolutely refuse to move or modify in any way whatsoever the ACC module. ACC is just too valuable a feature to me.

OP, good luck in getting your issue resolved.

Update: ACC worked well on three, one-hour long highway segments yesterday. I haven't done anything other than I changed the mode to standard cruise under settings a week or so ago, and used it that way maybe once or twice. Then yesterday I set it back to ACC just to see if it would work, based on @ICUGAZN's comment above. Worked fine! Very unsatisfying to not know WHY, but also very happy to have it work well again.
Also added a couple massive shackles to the bumper. So... happy with the bumper and just need to go do some winching.
Happy driving!

I have a friend who manages a collision repair center. They are a big outfit, and have a entirely separate division to recalibrate sensors. Going to a body shop for recalibration might be a option.
