The dealer will not eat the cost of leather out of their own profit. The costs listed on your window sticker are also associated with a cost on an invoice that the dealer is paying. This is something to take up the chain with a Ford executive.Question for you folks, since some of you may be in the same boat.
I opted for leather on my OBX when I ordered on 3/27. Ford ran out of cloth and now made leather standard. I take a little issue with the fact that those who ordered cloth get the upgrade for free. Am I right to expect the cost of leather to come off my price? The problem is that the new sticker shows an MSRP slightly above what is on my order confirmation from March due to price increases.
Obviously up to the dealer, but anyone have any thoughts or experience on this?
There is a master chart for Price Protection floating around this site. If you didn't have price protection or a deal made at your dealer you'll have to pay the increased price unfortunately. That credit was for existing orders that got converted to leather, not new orders forced to get leather.Question for you folks, since some of you may be in the same boat.

Thanks. I had reviewed the flowchart and since I placed my order in March, I understand I'm protected from the price increases that have occurred since. That's why I was hoping to be immune from them raising the prices elsewhere, while also marking the leather as no charge. But I meet with my dealer tomorrow to value my trade-in F-150, so hope to get some finality then. I was just curious to know what I should be expecting. There is a master chart for Price Protection floating around this site. Tear Tag populated today...now for shipping/delivery.No tear tag for me yet (blend date was 7/28). Still says "in production". Hoping Monday brings an update.
That would be nice if it were already shipped! No updates on my end.Latest update- I talked with Ford Marketing today because the tracker is still showing as in Production and the only thing chat could tell me was that it's primary status was in production and secondary was received with it's last location a ramp in Michigan. Marketing was very helpful, confirmed they had 2 sources, one source says it was in production with an ETA of delivery to the dealer 8/6-8/12, but their second source says it had already been shipped to the dealer and has an estimated delivery of 8/7.
They recommended I call the dealer to confirm, so put in a call to the dealer and waiting for my sales guy to call me back. Pretty sure he's tired of me over the past week or so, but I'm going out of town 8/8-8/11 for work, then 8/12-8/14 for a trip, so antsy that it's supposed to be delivered the day before I leave for a week.
Anyone else have delivery dates yet? Looking to keep track of how accurate or delayed shipping ETAs are from this build week.![]()
My order has been stuck in production since 6/30. My dealership and Ford marking originally told me an ETA delivery of 07/27. The dealership told me today that they show it at the rail ramp waiting for it to be shipped. I think there may be some back log of shipping this month.Latest update- I talked with Ford Marketing today because the tracker is still showing as in Production and the only thing chat could tell me was that it's primary status was in production and secondary was received with it's last location a ramp in Michigan. No one got the leather for free. The base price included the leather since it was no longer an option.Question for you folks, since some of you may be in the same boat.

Again, I don’t think that’s correct. It says so in the price protection thread sticky. Those that placed an order for cloth before they went OOS were forced to leather with Job 2. Their base increased but they received a private offer offsetting the increase, making leather free.No one got the leather for free. I was doing the price and build almost daily when Ford dropped the cloth option. I was choosing Leather in my build every time. However, the overall price remained the same even though it was no longer indicating an up charge for the leather. That’s when I noticed Ford had moved the cost of leather into the base price. Which makes sense, since it is no longer optional. I placed my order on 5-15 at that time base price for a 4 door was $47,940. No charge for leather, but my base price went up the value of the leather.Again, I don’t think that’s correct. It says so in the price protection thread sticky. This is what I’m saying. I chose leather when I ordered before Job 2, but would have been guaranteed a $2k private offer if I chose cloth. Unless I’m totally wrong but I’ve seen this elsewhere in older threads.
