Not sure if you’re on fb, but saw this a few days ago. Seems pretty sweet.
Yea thats a hell of a setup. If I didn't already have all my current focal stuff, I'd consider it, but I hate replacing whats not broken.

My amp is a PG 1300.5 I've had since like 2010 and has been in every vehicle I've owned, lol. Damn good amp considering it's still going strong 13 years later, lol

The tweeter on the a-pillar looks like a great way to go for a 3-way front setup. I’m not on Facebook and haven’t been able to find that post using Google. Any chance you could post a link to that post? I’m wondering if there are more details.

I searched for it as well via the guys name in the pic, and I couldn't find the post either

So what about going with the 4" midrange speaker in the standard place and then mounting the tweeter through the top of the grill? Most 1" tweeters aren't deeper than an inch too. Worse case, if you don't want to mount on the A pillars, then an angled mount on the dash.

These are CDT Audio 1" Silk Dome tweeter from their ES-643 3-way component system.

I think that's way I'm going to have to go.

Obviously I haven't tried, but I feel like the grill while a decent idea, is not big enough to house a 4" mid and the tweeter. The tweeter would 100% be OVER some part of the mid.

I digress though, give it a shot and report back. Those grills can't be that expensive to replace, lol

I'm waiting on some harnesses to change out the dash speakers with coaxials as a stop gap and take a look of what it would best to install my components. I can't really afford to do the components properly with processors, crossovers and amps at this time; hence I'm doing the stop gap measure.

Completely understand. I'm usually an audiophile, but it's a Bronco at the end of the day. The Acoustics suck, and 90% of the time going to be open air, so I went a bit cheap and just did a $170 focal component set w/ Crossover for the dash, and just some focal rsx 6.5 in the rear. Granted I may have gone a little overboard with that thought doing a jl13w2, but I'd like some bass too, lol

Nice! You’ve made some of the choices I’ve planned to make, too. Happy with the outcome?

Yes very happy the Focal speakers have great sound
Looks awesome. Is that the 13tw2-4? Kinda looks like it's the 13 eyeballing it, lol. Thats what I have coming for mine anyway.

How big was the pocket there for the tweeter? Plenty of room?

Did you end up needing to dynamat anything in the rear with the tailgate mount?

It is actually the 12w3
There’s hush mat in the rear gate, rear pods an in the front kick panels
Going in on this install I knew I wanted to go with a 3 way component up front so flush mounting the tweet in the A pillar worked out perfectly
