Im considering buying a:

2 door
Lux
Badlands
Manual
33” AT
Mod bumper

thing is, I’ve found a 2023 for sale with 4000 miles… priced at 52,000. But interest rates and taxes still puts me near 72,000 with taxes and financing.

2024 might have more kinks worked out, and provide the elusive mod top, but I’m interested know if I can get the same kind of truck, (manual etc) and then - what the cost difference will be.

Buy the used one now, or hold out for something better?

Another option to consider :
- Drop the Hoop Steps
- Keep your Standard Rock Rails
- Add 3rd-Party full length side steps, such as IAG Full Length EZ-Steps

Only $400 more than Hoop Steps, but get to keep your Standard OEM Rock Rails. Be a shame to give up those

I've thought of that...just trying to avoid spending near $70k on a truck and turning around and spending $$$$ right away on things that it could/should already come with.

Would be really surprised if RR sticks around, it's not available on '24 Ranger. Not sure if they'll move the red as an option on the HE to replace it but it is an extra cost.

Take the bird in the hand. Everyone in the waiting room for MY'24 should be looking now at available inventory around the nation. Only reason that makes sense is whether they are holding out for a new color.

I have been waiting to be able to order a manual since I put a dealer deposit down last September (obviously couldn’t order this spring. My hopeful order next week is:

2 DR Badlands - Non Sasquatch
Eruption Green
Lux Package (will hurt my wait time)
7 MT - 2.3L
Towing
Modular bumper
Roof rack

Just hoping I can get it with that configuration in under a year from when I finally have an order in. I can’t wait to start hitting trails again. It’s been a minute.

I am extremely paranoid since the Bronco and the 2024 Ranger share assembly lines they are going to only provide the (lack of) colors that the Ranger has and eliminate all other Bronco Colors (like Eruption Green and Race Red). My 2023 order is a Big Bend in Eruption Green and it would be devastating if that was eliminated for 2024.

Anyone feel like Ford is starting to price the Bronco too high? With all the mid-year and model year price changes these things have gotten so much more expensive. I get inflation is a factor, but I don't know. Just seems like the value isn't what it used to be. Still love it.

I absolutely think the price is too high, especially with the cheap a$$ all plastic interior, no rear vents, no cup holders, plastic skids to name a few.

The fact that as you go up in trim levels and $$ and that cheap plastic doesn’t turn to soft touch and better mayerials has always been snot ting to me.

I think though that looking at the price of a rubicon, most folks would get far more bang for the buck in a Sasquatch BB or BD than the Jeep.
That’s exactly why I ordered a Bronco over a wrangler. I love both offerings but money is money and I don’t need what a solid axel offers.

That works if dealerships have builds similar/identical to what we want. Also, there are many dealers that are still marking up these Broncos $5-10K over MSRP for market adjustment. Out of the three dealerships near me, 2 mark up and one does not. All three sell ordered vehicles for MSRP. I'm planning on ordering a 24 through the dealer that does NOT mark up, since I would rather spend my money on someone not trying to screw the customer....but I've looked at their inventories and what they have coming in and I would have to make concessions on a couple things I want. If I'm spending near $70K as it is, I want what I want, not "good enough".

My wife said if you really want something, just be patient and order it since if you settle for slightly less or a different color, you might end up with buyers remorse

That is your stubbornness that could cost you money via future price hikes. Expand your search. Not every dealer is tacking on ADM for abandoned orders that become available. If I only ordered through my local dealer, I'd still be waiting. FYI, I still have an order with a dealer that is 6 miles from my house. They don't have the allocation to deliver my order from 2021. Meanwhile, I've been enjoying my MY'22 Black Diamond (bought in Detroit) and MY'23 OBX (bought in Iowa).

Nice rides! It may not be stubbornness. It may be the fact that I can't or it's not convenient to travel all over the place to look for the unicorn good deal. I'm extremely happy for you that you are easy going and can travel to find a couple good enoughs!

For me, I already spent $74k last year on a good enough Ram 1500 that I was only able to sell for $50k because it wasn't me and enough added up that I didn't like to make me unhappy with it. (I was returning from overseas duty and needed a vehicle to transport my family and pets and everywhere was marking everything up. I had limited options through an organization called Military Auto Source that sold at MSRP and delivered to where I needed it upon return. I picked the close enough to what I wanted....it wasn't. Wrong color, wrong bed, etc). After that, I would rather be patient (I can now, but couldn't earlier), spend a little more and get what I want vs close enough and end up with buyers remorse.

That said, some people may not be as picky and have more time/money to travel to find their close enough. I'm happy for them. It's not for everyone, though.

I also would recommend against the Ford Hoop Step on any trim that comes standard with OEM rock rails (ie. Black Diamond or Badlands.). I originally wanted the hoops steps too, thinkning they were something that attahed to the factory rock rails. That is not the case. You order the hoop steps from Ford, and they remove the factory rock rails, and replace it with the less capable hoop steps.

Lots of aftermarket steps that clamp to the OEM rock rail such as the IAG ones and I think AR makes a very premium version.

Hmmm. I thought the Ford steps came on the regular rails, not how you described it. Learned something new today! I may have to go that route, but still hate to spend money on extras after spending a lot of money on the bronco. That's the trend, buy a $65-70k and then spend $$$$ to make it more better.

I don't think the mod top will make it on the general option list for '24 with 2k HE's still hanging unscheduled for '23.
