24' Manuals input please

Manual is worth it. I went from an Everglades (auto) to manual Heritage and the Heritage is just so much more fun and engaging to drive. I've had zero issues but I also live in Texas (rarely gets cold) and only have 8k miles. I do know that even if I had the noise I'd live with it, I wouldn't trade in for an automatic. I just have too much fun driving it!

I think the purported "issues" with the 7MT are completely overblown. To my knowledge there has not been any evidence that the noise is related to any type of real mechanical issue that would affect performance. I'm at over 20,000 miles on my 2022 and I do have the noise in cold temperatures, no issues at all with performance of the transmission.

Coming up on 15k on my MY24 7MT. I did have a slave cylinder go out at about 6k. Replaced under warranty. No issues since. Just returned a couple weeks ago from a month long trip that included Moab and lots of trail riding. Couldn’t love this vehicle more after that trip and am very happy I waited the extra year for them to resume 7MT production.

My clutch feel changed at 348 miles. Drove it to work that morning and when I left it felt different. It could've been the break in point maybe but its felt the same ever since. I'm at about 8500 miles now. The only noise is when its hot and the pedal makes a creaking noise, others have had similar issue/sound. The dealer said everything is fine and it was normal.

That being said I still love it. I ordered the Steeda spring 2 weeks ago and its still show awaiting shipment so never know. The vague feel takes some getting used to but its extremely easy to drive. If the Steeda spring ever arrives maybe it will help with the feel. The throws are also tight, coming form the past ranger manuals where it felt like a foot between each gear.

Another side note is the tall stanley cups make it awkward to shift sometimes.( been eyeballing the B&M shifter though)

'23 manual with almost 10k miles, no rattling noises like some of the earlier ones had. After mine got delivered I quit following the thread but I know back at that point all the part (generation?) numbers updated to whatever the latest fixes were. I would think if you're ordering a new '24 or hopefully '25 that the issue is resolved by now, if not then it's a warranty item that you have to deal with. I will say the manual is definitely worth it!

4000 miles on 2023 manual no issues or noises. Several family members also drive it, easy for them to drive. The Bronco came with the updated trans having D ring change or whatever. Will report back if it starts making noise this winter, but last winter was fine.

Thanks for all the input we'll see where the stealership lands on trade for our 23', if we're close I wont let the MT sway me! I was told they use KBB but KBB doesn't list a Base model now, weird!

I don’t know about the cold theory on MT’s, I live in Montana at 7,500 above sea level, it routinely gets down to -30F here and I have zero noise.

'24 Black Diamond MT here. I bought it 3 weeks ago and am absolutely loving it so far. The Warden also loves it and has a much easier time driving it than our manual Mustang. I haven't noticed any unusual noise and it has been colder overnights in Nova Scotia so maybe Ford worked out whatever or I got lucky but no hint of any problems so far.

I have had my 24 HE/MT since February with 10k on the clock no issues so far. Love it.

I take my kids to school (yes in my two door), and they both have their Stanley's. Awkward. My Yeti Rambler doesn't fit in the cup holder, but it has a screw on lid so it doesn't spill.

I'm at about 1700 miles. No noise from transmission, all I get is the driveshaft coming off of the transfer case going forward that makes the annoying noise on warmer days after 20 miles or so.

I am very happy I chose the manual. I do wish there was a little bit more "feel" from the clutch pedal. With the quiet engine, exhaust and lack of a good tach, it can be easy to over rev from dead stop. Plus the start/stop is just obnoxious. Overall it makes the drive so engaging though.

10k on my 23 BD, no issues whatsoever. Agree with the cup holders getting in the way, but I use the door net to keep a water bottle in during trips around town when I'm shifting more often. No big deal. For me if there's a bottle in the cup holder closest to the passenger, it doesn't really impact me shifting. It's a minor inconvenience. I enjoy the MT so far.

I felt the same way about not hearing the revs. I'd always be accidentally going 70+ in 4th gear! I added the Corsa exhaust which makes it a bit louder (not obnoxious in any way) so I can do a better job shifting by ear. the "tach" sucks. I really wish it had an old school analog style or a better laid out digital one.

I've done that before, but I put in all new speakers and replaced the dummy sub/amp... that's why I can't shift by ear. LOL

Frustrating thing is it's a software fix. Minimum they could do is just make the tach red as it goes up and deploy it out in an over the air fix. At least it tells you the gear you are in.
