Well damn. Changing oil today and took a closer look at mine. It’s got some rust on it too, but also think some dirt. Oh well…as long as it’s not a problem other than cosmetically, I’m not going to worry about it for now. Maybe replace it with something else later if it’s too bad.
The important part these FP covers is to make sure to get longer bolts when you install them. Go to page 1 first post from Carbon on the link N8do above posted. You’ll see the bolts he (and I) used. No leaks.
