At 55k starting it’s no where near close to my badlands Sasquatch capability. With mods to get it similar ground Clearence and all the other things, it’ll be well into the 75k range. I also don’t love the looks. I have 0 want.

The only competition here is the market of people that want an "off-road SUV" they will never take off-road. For that buyer, imo it's a lot better.

Wouldn't take much for the interior to be nicer, probably has better DD luxuries and tows almost double.

But if you want to roll it off the truck and wheel it, Bronco is your better bet.

Practically, they are cars for different people, but in reality for those that soul search about their actual offroad time, it's probably better lol.

Competition is great for consumers. Heard the next gen 4runner might be more Bronco and Wrangler like as was the 1st gen 4runner. Doors and roof might be removable.
I would love to have a modern first gen 4 runner. SUV when you need it or truck when you need it with Toyota quality.

I’m not from the world of landcruisers, so this doesn’t flip me. I do like it though. Bring the Everest to the US, and fight it out with the Toyota . If this Landcruiser gets you to trade the Bronco, then good for you. I really feel like a lot of Bronco complaints stem from people who want Bronco to be something different than what it is.

I’m just here for the Broncos. Hell, the Ranger Raptor is more practical for my uses, but I’m not trading my Bronco for one. My wife’s a fan of Toyotas. She can have one if she wants (sadly, she’d opt for the square headlights). The only thing that hit me in the feels was the 6000 lb towing capacity.

On edit. I watched the videos. I’d be really happy if my wife picked one of these out of Toyota’s selection. They did a good job. 18 inch wheels are a little big though.

Everest would have a hard time competing because the LC brings that sense of nostalgia to the field. This vehicle is going to siphon off Bronco owners that were left flat by Bronco’s short comings, or lack of sophistication. I lack sophistication, so Bronco and I are suited just fine.

Was slightly interested to see what it had to offer in case it might be a potential for the wife’s car but wasn’t too impressed at what you get for the 50k range and the price only goes significantly up.

Would buy in an instant, except . . .

(1) The ADM on the Bronco was bad, but established how willing folks were to part with their month. FJ owners have been begging for a return of this iconic badge since 2014.

(2) I already have an FJ Cruiser. It's ugly - thought that before I bought it and confirmed it after - but it does what it is supposed to do (off-road, light towing, carrying dogs and filthy kids) and all you have to do is change the oil and rotate the tires.

(3) I already have a Bronco. No way I'm waiting 18 to 24 months again for a stupid car unless I'm getting buried in it.

The 250 Series achieves good forward visibility through a low-set cowl and instrument panel top surface, which contribute to safe on- and off-road driving. It also employs a low beltline to improve visibility of road surfaces even on rough roads. While dramatically improving off-road driving performance on the traditional Land Cruiser wheelbase, this series has a shorter mirror-to-mirror width to ensure good maneuverability.

Just that fact that it’s made in Japan is enough to forget about a removable roof , they put a big enough moonroof on this and it’s a huge win . Power train is above and beyond anything close in this segment . Quality first a must at Toyota , not feeding the frenzy with whatever and deal with the issues later
