Hello, My wife and I drove a BD SAS V6 today and she loves it!!! The dealer didn’t move to far off of the MSRP and the rates right now are not the greatest but that being said my wife loves it So it’s just a matter of time, It has the hard top but not insulate, I noticed it was a little noisy as it was a mix of snow sleet and rain as we drove it. Would the insulated roof make a big difference? Also dose the BD SAS have the sway bar disconnect or just the BL SAS? Another question I can’t seem to get an answer on is if the 4A is selected will the lockers engage on their own which I really wouldn’t want the front to do that unless I selected it Mysel.
Thanks,
Steve

Yes, it will make a difference. But don't expect it to be sedan quiet.

No. Only Badlands gets that.

No. Think of it as similar to AWD.

Thanks for the info, Is there any difference in the part time vs advance transfer case other than Auto 4wd? I am use to the part time systems in the super duty trucks with locking hubs

I have a BD with no sound deadening. Have not been in a Bronco with it, so can't compare. It's a bit of of wind noise at speed, but you get used to it. I always warn new passengers and let them know it's because the roof (and doors) come off and they think that is cool.

BD has a rear locker - which is all most off-roaders will generally need. Fine up to a 6 rated trail and if you are experienced and can read your lines, pretty good on a 7. The BL adds front locker and disco sway bar for really tough off-roading, or to make moderately tough easy.

I have the advanced 4x4 and while it is technically different in how it operates than typical AWD, 4A feels the same as AWD to me - on beaches at least. Need the true 4x4 for tougher conditions.

Basically 4A is your all wheel drive option - best used on pavement especially with inclement weather. Other wise you are driving with an open rear end (only right rear getting power). Very important since most people now drive, and are used to, front wheel drive or all wheel drive vehicles.
Lockers are not automatically selected. Lockers should not be used on pavement, whether wet or dry.
Hope this helps.

Yes I know lockers are for off road only and we probably could get away with the BD with 4.46 axles and just the rear locker and save 6K on they SAS package as 90% of are use will be going to work on paved roads. But that Sasquatch with those 35" tires and the 4.70 gears make that truck sweet!!!!

The Sas makes for a nice package and part of that 6K is usually the automatic trans so check the window sticker. That really gets the Sas down to 5K range. The V6, Sas with 4.70 gears and 35" tires is a great combination.

I think it is best to have the 4A on the SAS package as many owners will never see more than gravel roads. and as a daily driver, the 4A will help control the 35s
Now, you could go Badlands, it has the 4A without the SAS, has 33s and lockers.

No locking hubs on the Bronco. Everything is done electronically (regardless of whether you have 4A or not) for better or worse. It's easier, yes, but possibly less reliable due to electronic glitches that have occurred for some people.

Just to add in case there's any confusion; 4A is NOT full time AWD. You still have a 2WD setting.

The ratio is different in 4Lo depending on the transfer case. The advanced 4x4 transfer case is a 3:1 reduction and the part-time transfer case is a 2.7:1 reduction.

For the record, you can safely run 4A all the time (I do) and I have 103k miles on my 2021 Bronco.

Lockers do not engage automatically in the street modes. In some off-road modes, it will turn on the rear locker, but you can turn it off.

There are companies that make sound deadening liners for the hardtop. It will help, but there are other tricks to also quiet down a noisy hardtop.
