Hey everyone!

I’ve got a 23 badlands Sasquatch that I was hoping to slap a bumper on. I’ve seen both threads up top with all of the options, and I have tried searching through all of the posts for answers. I am curious, is there a fan favorite currently or a top 3 that most people seem to go with for overall looks/usage.

I don’t need a winch but do prefer something modular or capable of adding to it. Thank you!

I just wish that they were available without LED pod light/lightbar cut-outs, and excess sensor holes, that IMO look horrible.

Best looking looking bumpers for the Bronco or Raptor by far are from Bodyguard. I put both front and rear on.

I’m going with JCR not crazy expensive, good clearance, doesn’t block intercooler airflow and strong enough Plus looks good to me. Oh and the high lift holes are a plus…

The Crusaders are about the best looking out there. Just wish they could be ordered without the LED cutouts, if they ever offered that, I'd buy both front and rear.

It is really going to be subjective. Our man below believes in his choice & is happy. Many would not be.
Find what you want in / from a bumper and work from there. Such as, future winch option, light options. Do you want a push bar or not? Approach / departure angles. Is it just for looks or is strength & function? Find what is important to you, then look into a reputable company that checks the boxes for you.

Good Fog lights are nearly required here on the coast (and great on trails) - some cheap rear floods are handy camp/work light. But some screen/mesh behind the holes would fix them if ya don’t need/want lights. But they may not cut them out for a price…

I own the JCR Crusader front bumper and have for about six months now.

The fog mounting locations have brackets that are not centered or angled. The light will not sit flush or line up to project forward without losing 1/5 or so to the bumper itself. The wiring was clearly an afterthought as there is no good place to run it without seeing it sit between the bumper and the body, which usually wound't be an issue, but the center bar has nowhere to go with the radiator and intercooler right in the front.

It's even worse with the center light bar, which is held up with just the screws that come from the light manufacturer. They have no way to use the brackets that come with the light that they designed the bar around. The bracket they made has no backing and the only thing holding that light bar in place is the force of the screw sandwiching the light. That wouldn't be a big deal but the brackets are too far apart, so you have about 1/4 inch total of gap between the light and the brackets they built into the bumper. On top of that, the bracket they made has no back, it's just a c-shaped slot, so one good push or a strong bump and it's driven into your intercooler.

With that in mind I'd be concerned about a winch and adding the complexity that entials.

I need to point out, these are Baja Design squadron pro lights, and a Baja Designs s8 light bar, top end lights. Not amazon specials. This is the company that I was told they use to design for and plan around.

The fit and finish on the Crusader, as well as a few other items I've gotten from them, is not what you expect from a professional company, even at the lower price point. I genuinely think it hurts the appearance of my Bronco as time goes by. I do not plan to keep the Bronco for much longer or I would replace all of it due to appearance and design choices that in my opinion make it look cheap.

I'm currently fighting their tailgate table. That is a totally different conversation, but the gist of it is they seem to have issues with quality control and making a high quality, consistent product.

The fogs on the JCR have brackets that are not centered well so your light will not sit flush or line up clean. It's even worse with the center light bar, which is held up with just the screws that come from the light manufacturer. They have no way to use the brackets that come with the light that they designed the bar around. The bumper also seems to have just been drilled

What would you go with if you kept the bronco?

Bumpers I've seen first person:

1000% I'd buy the addictive desert designs rock fighter or stealth fighter depending on if I wanted to deal with a winch. The fit, finish and quality stands out. I know it's a lot, but honestly they look phenomenal in person and I get why they demand the high price.

If I had a smaller budget but still wanted a winch I'd buy the the Fab Four stubby bumper. I was going to get that before I was sold on the JCR by someone online. It can come with a pre-runner bar as well which I like.

The last one but still a strong contender for me would be the Warn Elite series.

I've never seen Lobo but hear good things, but that doesn't change the fact that you never know what people think is good, acceptable, great, etc from forum posts. I've now bought about a dozen products listed as "oh my god it's the best thing ever" all over the forums, some even with massive waitlists, only to find they're middle of the road quality at best. Take the RCI sliders for instance. People are waiting MONTHS for them. Mine showed up missing powdercoat in spots and the holes didn't line up in one section. They also forgot a bunch of the bolts.

There is a reason why ADD gets the prices they do. Same with Warn. Same with a ton of other companies that have a proven record of quality products. While supporting the small guy and made in USA is great, I've learned the hard way somestimes it's just not ever going to be the quality you'd want to have or show off on your vehicle.

Rock Hard 4x4 looks very similar to stock. All sensors and lane keep assist intact. Aluminum or Steel options. Can mount stock fog lights and winch plate if you so desire. Made in 🇺🇸.
