2021 A Rarity Like the 1966?

While the '66-'77 Bronco is generally considered the same across all model years, there were a few tweaks and changes along the way from year to year. Most purists know that the 1966 Bronco was unique in many ways from the rest. Given the 2021 will be a somewhat shortened production run, and some of the 1st year quirks will get worked out in mostly aesthetic design changes, what do you think the 2021 will look like in the rear view mirror a decade or two from now? I think it might wind up being more sought after - Navy Pier and all.

First, I'm a 7/13 reservation, so I'm getting a '21 period. My family has owned 2-'66's, a 68, a 76 and a 77 (as far as EB's go) and they did nothing but get better over the years. V-8s, heavier axles, power steering and disk brakes, interior finish, auto trans (vs 3 on the tree).

R & D on the new Bronco has been extensive and I don't think they'll improve too much over time, maybe trim and color changes. In 6-8 years Bronco 7g will probably have major changes (Improvements? IDK, I cant imagine it much better)

There was no 1996 Jeep Wrangler only 1997 models. I had a 1997 Wrangle but it was built in 1996. it had many differences than the "true 1997". It didn't change the value at all when I replaced it with a 2005 Wrangler.

I will be curious what the final number is for the '21. With the reservation cutoff, required production ramp up, and shortened year, it may very well be in the 70-80k range. You are right though, far more than any year of EB production.

It will be cool, but likely similar to the JK wrangler. A 2007 Wrangler and a 2017 wrangler are basically 75% the same. And the body panels, suspension, frame, and roll cage/top are exactly the same. I expect the Bronco to remain relatively unchanged for its ~10 year timeframe, with updates mostly being to the interior/drivetrain/color options/suspension. (Even though the JK had unchanged suspension I do suspect Ford will have revisions or different models)

Maybe 7G will add another GOAT mode... amphibious mode.
