The first one I seen at a showing display had that I pointed it out to my friend who happened to be the service writer there .The one I saw was collapsed partly like a big dent there in that exact spot .

My 3.5EB F150 had inserts in the intakes that were removable. I'm guessing this was their way of implementing that design directly into the system.

It is not twisted, looks like the tube creates a vortex with that shape
