I got the scheduled build date and VIN for my 24 4DR HE today. I have been working on a list of performance mods I want to make immediately. I settled on the K&N intake for the 2.7L and reached out to them today to see if the same intake that fit the 21-23's would be right for the 24. They sent me an email back saying,

"Thank you for reaching out to us. We do not produce a cold air intake for your year-make-model-engine size and have no information on development of parts for that vehicle."

Hoping someone can help me understand if this is just standard and expected because of the new model year OR if this is an indication K&N won't produce an intake for the 24MY for a while.

I wouldn't choose k&n, read some of the reviews about the one of the parts coming unglued. But to answer your question nothing has changed for '24 that should affect a CAI.

Thanks Lowcountry. That is good to know. I'll read some more reviews. I'll look into the Mishimoto and Injen also.

The Injen is a very nice intake. I run it on my 2.7. definitely worth it, and with the new charge pipes that they just released, it ties it all together nicely.

2 things:

1. It was a pain to install. Now that I know what I know, it would probably be easier, but it is still a pain because it runs new bigger pipes all the way to the turbo.

2. People who installed it on the MY23 Bronco received an error, and there was a software update that was done to resolve it. Not just the intake, but a few different catch cans had the same error. Not sure if this update was already done for the MY24.

No worries, here's what I'm talking about

It's the elbow in one of the vacuum lines, it's glued in but to me it's a bad design

Look at S&B if you haven't yet, they'll who I'll be choosing.

Thanks Ninjak. I'll go dig into the specs on the Injen now. I am honestly thinking about buying it in advance along with the Ford Performance Tune and AWE or Magnaflow exhaust and having the dealer install it all before I drive it off the lot.

If you don’t get the 2.3l don’t get a CAI. There is no gain with a 2.7. The K&N provides real gains for the 2.3 (think it was 30hp or close to it, and independently verified). There is the one part that will fail at some point but a call the K&N and they will send you replacements for free. I have 2 extras now, but it is a dumb design. I’m sure you could reinforce it but since they will send you extras for free I didn’t try to solve that on my own.

The forum should have updated with a better pic now lol :)
The reason I chose the Injen as you can see, the bottom inlet pipe is much bigger and keeps that diameter all the way to the turbo. I get better turbo response and you can hear the system :)

I also run the Ford tune, and I have a Magnaflow exhaust system. I plan to install Injen new charge pipes, and I will also install their intercooler when it's ready. No, I am not a spokesperson for Injen, but good products are good products, and when they work, I speak on them. I can tell you I have surprised a few vehicles with my Bronco. There have been people claiming there are no gains, but I will tell you there are gains. It's the entirety of the system, not just one part.

I know the Bronco is not a race car, but fun is fun.
