Hey guys, just got back from a drive in the bronco and had the hood up in the garage and noticed a noise in the top end of the motor.. Looking to see if anyone else has a similar noise or if this could be the beginning of the end of my 2.7. It was built at the tail end of the bad batch in the original run of 2.7s..

Engine has about 24k miles on it.

Here's a video of the noise, and a pic of the engine sticker.

I have 14k on my 2.7 and I've never heard anything like that. I think your safest bet is having it towed to the dealer.

Hello! Send us a private message with your VIN and the name and location of your local Ford dealer. I’d be happy to see what I can do to assist with this noise concern. Thanks!

Something’s not right. I had a similar noise in a Toyota engine and it was a fragment of a valve guide that was embedded in the piston and making slight contact with the head.
