Does anyone experience an engine misfire? My 4-door 2.7L Wildtrack started misfiring at 57,000 miles; I'm now around 58,400 miles, and this is my second time visiting a local dealer shop. The first time, it took the dealer two days to swap out new injectors, and they claimed all problems had been solved. But a day later, the engine error light showed up. I brought my car back to the dealer, and it's been three weeks. They still ran diagnoses, compression, and dry/ wet tests and couldn't determine the problems. My local dealer can't provide me with a loaner vehicle. Any advice from the Bronco community?
I love my Bronco, and I put 57k miles in less than a year and a half from LA, CA, to Portland, Maine. I don't know how long it will take to fix my Bronco, and I truly want to keep my vehicle and reach the goal of 200,000 miles.

What cylinder or codes did it have?
Also which injectors did they replace?

Should be pretty easy to narrow down if it’s only the one cylinder.
Spark plug, coil, injectors or base engine.
I have no idea what diagnosis they’ve done so far other than what you mentioned, but it really shouldn’t be that hard for them to figure out.

great pics, I see you've been enjoying the Bronco until recently (y)

I'm surprised they didn't change the plugs. I'm thinking pushing 60K might be a little long for plugs on a turbo 🤔

Hope you find someone with the answer 🤠.

Most common problem is fuel pump

My service guy just told me they’ve changed everything that may cause misfire, and it’s still happening

Thank you, they claimed spark plugs were all in good condition 😂

Well I’m not sure how that’s possible if it still has a misfire.

I’m dealing with the same thing with my 2.3l. They replaced my fuel injectors and then two weeks later I had the same problem. They called me the other day and said they were gonna replace my spark plugs & coils, and then continue testing it.

I’m in SoCal and my dealer was bought out a few months ago. They used to always give out loaners, the first time they had it for 3 days and just called me an Uber to go home. This time it took them 4 days to get me a loaner, they’ve had it since the 10th, and I have no idea when I’ll get it back.

I’m also in SoCal. I’m about to lose all my patience. I might decide to bring my Bronco to the other private shop for repair

What if the head gasket were starting to leak. Would that cause misfire
Yes, if coolant was leaking into that one cylinder or if it had low enough compression. But both would typically show up on a compression test which they claimed to do, plus it would almost certainly have a P0316 code set also.

Holy that sucks. My dealer ran so many tests and still couldn't find the reason for the misfire. But since they spent time on it, they asked me to change spark plugs and coils today, and I'm afraid my engine would still have misfired after I changed spark plugs. I asked the dealer to release my Bronco, and I said I would take it to my friend's shop, a Japanese technician who used to work for the Misushibi Racing Department. He fixed all types of vehicles, including Ferrari engines, German cars, and Land Cruisers; He will be my final solution. Since you are in Socal, I will keep you updated, if he fixed my misfire.

Hi there, Joel! Go ahead and send us a private message with your VIN and the name and location of your Ford dealer, and I’ll look into this misfire concern.

Have you used any fuel injector cleaner ? Are you running Premium Fuel ? Was there carbon buildup on injector ? I tried some on my Polaris Slingsgot and missing pretty well disappeared. If it has the iridium plugs should last a long time. You running synthetic or semi synthetic motor oil ? You doing oil changes early ?
