So last summer, I bought the protectors pictured below for my BD 2 door. About a month prior to the install, I noticed the MIC roof cracks starting to develop. I put these on and was going to arrange for replacing the roof. I started thinking if the dealership might look for a reason to deny the claim so I took them off, which involved a lot of fooling around with adhesive removal, and they replaced the roof. By that time it was getting too cold to put them back on and I decided to wait until the spring. Well spring is here and I'm getting ready to reinstall these.
I noticed when they were first installed that they raised the roof by 5-7 mm and changed the angle of the brackets where the front panels attached to the rear part of the roof slightly. My question is, has anyone that’s installed these noticed any long term problems from any additional stress on any part of the roof setup? Thanks for your input.
