You can always get yours painted too!! Or find a CO OBX that wants to trade If you dont mind giving up the wider flares.I'm jelly of Outer Banks painted fenders...
Yes...I bought the stuff to paint them. You can always get yours painted too!! Or find a CO OBX that wants to trade If you dont mind giving up the wider flares.
insert sad face - page 1001I made it to page 1000 !!!! yay me
I installed mine the day after taking delivery and just tried FM of a very local channel this weekend, hardly any reception I really only use Sirius and CarPlay so I’ll liveHow is the stubby working??? I’ve got it sitting here but I haven’t wanted to install it. Has it affected your reception at all?
I spoke to my body shop and they said they would have to encapsulate the fender flares to paint them, but would be very durable. He quoted me $ 300.00 per fender flare and I grew to love the gray just fine.Yes...I bought the stuff to paint them.
Jessica...are your fenders flexible? The Sasquatch flares are a bit flexible...I wonder if the paint (primer adhesion, base, mid, clear coats) will crack or flake over time.
How easy were they to install?Installed my IAG soft top lift assist today - works great for propping up the back. Haven't taken the top all the way down to see how much it helps you raise it from there. Seems like it should help though. Im a little concerned how much it kinks the rear windows when you prop up the back since it lifts it a bit more than stock. I asked them in their thread if they have any advice.
Also washed and detailed it after the road trip, since it was plastered with bugs.
Hmmm...what does that mean, "encapsulate", them?I spoke to my body shop and they said they would have to encapsulate the fender flares to paint them, but would be very durable. He quoted me $ 300.00 per fender flare and I grew to love the gray just fine.
I think it does affect performance and reception a little. I don't use FM that much, so I prefer the stubby aesthetics over the long antenna. How is the stubby working??? I’ve got it sitting here but I haven’t wanted to install it. Has it affected your reception at all?
I assume it means to cover the entire fender in a paint adhesion compound.Hmmm...what does that mean, "encapsulate", them?

I am gonna try it myself. The, "How To"' link described plastic adhesion promoter, but not excapsulation paint. Google seems to refer to it as paint that goes over lead-based paint.
