Unless Crutchfield is making their own 'plug & play' harnesses that have the Ford adapters, you're going to have to cut into a number of areas unless you find the adapters to plug into the factory head unit and factory harness.
1.) how will you get power to the amp? on the PNP, this draws off...
yeah, either way would probably work. You honestly can't tell the ppf when it's over paint though.. it's clear. I have it on my rockers, hood lip, etc. I would still put a thin rubber gasket material sandwiched too.
If I wasn't committed to getting it done in one day, I would have paused and ordered this (I used it for my door sills). It's a thin/clear PPF film that you could cut off sections and install on the roll bar under the brackets

Or I'd go to Napa and buy...
Just installed my 2dr Trektop yesterday.. took about 4-5 hours, but I too watched the video 3-4 times, paused it, test fit, etc. I figure it should take about an hour the next time around.
Some observations:
Bestop really should have included some rubber gaskets for where the metal brackets...
B-Precise in Johnstown. He's working out of the old Coughlin Ford dealership. Has a nice little shop around back. He worked at Esoteric for a few years and then branched on his own. Fair prices, nice work.
I live on a gravel drive also w/ Sas tires. mudflaps went on day 1. I had 2 nice size chips in my rockers even with flaps.
I went with PPF on the bottom 18" of my rockers, 12" on my lip of my hood and the area between the grill and the bumper. was around $550.
I doubled up and put...
I looked at Stek Dynoflex a bit for mine. cost was around $450-500. It was supposed to help with most 'minor' chips, could barely see it, but was only expected to last 1-2yrs before your wipers scratched it up. You could 1.) use a ceramic to minimize friction & wear or 2.) not use your...
Joe/PNP is clearly the first one to market with this harness. The biggest challenge is the Bronco head unit has a different style of plug that the big players haven't started producing yet. But more importantly Joe 1.) builds a high quality product that literally is plug & play and 2.)...
Nice work! I think you set the bar now for a "build" thread (vs. the dudes that put some stickers and new wheels on and call it a 'build').... until someone decides to finally do a v8 swap ;)
it's close with the right harness.. if you want to stick with the 6.5" speakers in the door (and likely replace the 4" in the dash), take some time and read this thread.. it will answer most of your questions...
yep, they're likely underpowered then. these are built for higher power ratings. you will probably be happier with an amp in between or going back to the stock speakers at stock power.
I've got the same speakers in my Base and they sound great. It could be one of 2 things: 1.) you have polarity reversed (+/-) and they're going to sound bad or 2.) they're now underpowered and your next purchase will probably be a Key200 amp to give them they power they need.
Yep, I had almost the same issue with Ford accessories. Ordered the 2dr flavor, got the 4dr version and box was ripped open upon arrival. I opened and found thr 4dr version with missing fronts. Shipped it back and it took 5 calls and 3 weeks to get the correct 2dr version.
i just bought the HS8 and installed it. No way it will fit under a 2dr seat, unlikely it will fit under a 4dr. but it brings the bass..enough to round out the system. I tried the crutchfield Sound Ordinance B8PTD and couldn't keep it turn on consistently. similar footprint
I agree on the Sound Ordinance. I've been a big fan for over 10yrs in other vehicles..but couldn't keep it consistently turning on when using line-level inputs with my PNP harness. I finally bit the bullet and bought/installed a HS8 today and it seems to be working well so far.
You have to call the # on the ford accessories page. But good luck! I ordered the 2dr rocker covers, they shipped me the 4dr versions and it took 5 phone calls and 3+ weeks to finally get the correct ones shipped to me.
Ford accessories customer support is dreadful!
