  1. Powering your fridge/freezer?

This Bluetti power bank has about a 500 watt hour useable capacity, so maybe 12 hours of fridge time in a hot climate. Plugged into the rear outlet to charge while driving. Mounted out of the way for sleeping in the back of the Bronco. I also carry 2 X 200 watt solar panels when camping and...
  2. When does the MPG value get calculated?

I’ve always wondered how the ”MILES TO EMPTY” is measured/calculated. Are there weight sensors on the fuel tank?
  3. Worried about my Bronco

Bad battery symptoms? You can leave the doors open all day on the Bronco and it will not run the battery down. I believe those circuits power off after 10 minutes or so. This is a great wilderness camping feature, though others here have complained about the 12 VDC outlets not remaining...
  4. Here is What Happens When Your Battery Dies!

Yeah…. My wife’s Lincoln Nautilus has the battery about half under the “cowl” you have to be a magician to get the ground cable off.
  5. Here is What Happens When Your Battery Dies!

In my opinion the AGM’s are much better. The wet cells I ran in my old CJ only lasted about a year before they died. They were very intolerant to the beating required to survive in an old Jeep!
  6. Bronco vs. Flatfender (CJ)

  7. 4A issues. ford says this is normal?

I do not believe the 22 Badlands has “Sport Mode” from the factory. Mine (with the 4A transfer case) doesn’t. So, someone has jacked with it…. Hopefully the code changes that were made are correct…. In my opinion: 4A provides zero advantage over 2H in normal driving conditions and also...
  8. Ford Performance Rear Differential Cover Installed Impressions

Yeah, not so easy. If you have the cover, try crushing a ball of tin foil inside the cover in this area against a flat surface. Remove the cover and try to assess (measure) the difference between the “ID” (the surface of the crushed tin foil) and the “OD” (the outside surface of the cover.
  9. OEM skid plate kit bolts

My ordering experience with FPP was so bad that I would not ever consider ordering from them again and I have 30,000 expiring points…
  10. Ford Performance Rear Differential Cover Installed Impressions

No issues!! Comfort is everything! However, I would be comfortable tapping 1/8 - 27 NPT threads in nearly any material (not wood) that was even 1/8” thick in a low (no?) pressure application.
  11. 30K Mile Service Price

I believe this is key advice, but not so easy for most to accomplish. I have been very lucky to have found two (because my first guy retired on me). Luckily, I was able to find another. It is nirvana having a good mechanic you can trust. At 73 YO, I have almost completely stopped doing my own...
  12. Ford Performance Rear Differential Cover Installed Impressions

Just curious, why not drill and tap? The cover has obviously been machined. I would drill and tap without hesitation.
  13. Installed Ford's Tailgate Table yesterday

Be careful with the weight that you put on it. I put a 5 gallon water bottle on the outer end of my Ford table and ended up putting a small flex dent in my tailgate above the lower hinge. I had forgotten that the spare tire weight plus the two 2 gallon ROTOPAX fuel containers and mount...
  14. Stalled out on incline around 12,500'

Actually as a vehicle goes up in altitude, the engine’s dynamic compression ratio goes down (because the ambient air pressure is less) and therefore the chance of engine knock (pre ignition) goes down. The turbos help correct that problem somewhat. That is why coastal elevation premium fuel is...
  15. Ford Performance Rear Differential Cover Installed Impressions

That fricken gasket is indeed impressive! I’ll admit was skeptical….
  16. Ford Performance Rear Differential Cover Installed Impressions

Recently pulled the rear diff cover on my 1950 Willys CJ3A. Let’s see…74 years old. No issues, no gasket just RTV. Yup, somewhat hard to get off…. Replacement was again with no gasket just RTV. The only thing weeping gear oil is the drain plug…. Why make things harder than they need to be?
  17. Camping chair recommendations

Helinox.com Bought their 1 lb. Chair (Chair Zero?) for backpacking. Liked it so much that I bought their Savanna Chair for the Bronco. I have fallen asleep in it! Packs down fairly small and fits under one side of the rear seat. Not for anyone on a budget however, as they are somewhat pricey..
  18. Washer Fluid Low Alarm

Super!!! Thank you! On the schedule for tomorrow morning.
  19. Washer Fluid Low Alarm

@Ducati1098 I really appreciate you posting. I’m curious as to why every step is a “1.”. No Step 2.’s??? Nice computer generated illustrations. I finally recognized the rear view mirror and realized the “depiction was ”looking” up under the fender from below…. Is the fender liner hard to...
