Last update... added some weatherstripping on the hardtop, it knocked out the wind noise coming from the b pillar. Adding rhe roof rack brought a lot of noise back lol

Last door is done, now to find a 2 door hardtop in the Houston area to compare. Did it make a difference... yes Was it worth the $300 investment... oh yeah!

After yard work, i was able to knock out one door, I'm still amazed at the complete lack of sound insulation. Luckily for a few bucks that's easily remedied. One more door to go, then I'll take some sound readings and ask some local 2 door members if i can ride in theirs and take a baseline...

What i did definitely helps, are there better products out there... oh yeah!! But at a substantially higher cost. Mas dampend vinyl can also be used, but it adds about 1b per sq ft used and it's a pain to work with.

The killmat keeps the metal from flexing, or sounding like a tin can. The foam helps block some of the sound, and insulates the cabin and decouples the panels from the metal making helping with sound transferring. The felt i added in some spots helps absorb sound as well. I bad as this car is...

i have taken apart most of the interiors of the cars i own , and it's fairly strait forward, i did see a couple of you tube videos from a couple called 1Five1 Garage, they break theirs down in various videos, and it's a great reference!

nope, but i guess we have gotten used to not having to talk over the excessive wind/road noise in our other cars( 85 Bronco, 2014/2022 Raptor. 68 Mustang) on long road trips it gets annoying to us. AS for the free time.... i make time for what's important to me.
