I think any truck that gets into production before shutdown will probably get through the snake. Kind of hard to retool the line with unfinished product in the way.
With Farley wanting to take F to 100% online sales (if they can get their dealers onboard), they need to step up their customer experience game. Maybe this “New Vehicle Support Team” is a leading edge as they get ready to start taking MY23 orders.
I would think that since it is a retooling shutdown, it would only effect the line being retooled. Other activities such as shipping should not be impacted (other than fewer vehicles to process).
Ok, I have a window sticker. So what do I do with the time that, for the last two years, I used for obsessing, checking status, whining and complaining about the truck not being built. I now have a lot of extra time on my hands.
I have a couple of questions to those knowledgeable in F’s mfg process.
We will receive a “blend” date on the WS. The components of the truck (body, engine, etc.) are therefore in production in advance of the blend date. When do they begin building components? I assume they are built in...
Well, pleasant surprise. My status code on the back door just changed to STRT. If others’ experience from yesterday holds true to form, a WS soon? Maybe?
I have a 7/13/20 reservation and still waiting for a firm date. This week I have been told 6/27, 6/28 a couple of times and earlier today 6/30. I am very happy for all who have locked into the production schedule, at the same time it is frustrating to still be in the shifting sands.
I suspect that the members of Ford’s production scheduling team have a liquid lunch, read this forum, say “watch this” to each other, change build dates then giggle like schoolgirls.
I am still targeted for 6/28 but no WS.
It seems that Ford treats us BL buyers as the red-headed stepchildren of the Bronco family. (No offense meant to any red-headed stepchildren out there.) I feel we get bumped more frequently and served up the scheduling scraps. I don’t want to get bumped...
