  3. Idling down - Feeling Stupid

I follow the decades-old Mack Trucks instructions. "Idle engine 3 minutes before shut down." This is all about allowing your turbo to cool down. I.e., at idle the turbo is no longer working but oil continues to pump oil thru it. That oil carries away heat allowing the turbo to cool down. Oil can...
  4. Rear Brake Pad Service

This includes pre-2025 2.3L models with vacuum brake boosters, and 2025-on with electric brake boosters ?
  5. Rear Brake Pad Service

I can't find consistent information. And why do the Ford instructions in the tread below say to only turn the Torx screw one full turn? Usually you turn it (clockwise) until it stops (it easily turns with a Torx socket using your fingers)...
  6. Rear Brake Pad Service

Front Calipers: Typically use a straight-push compression tool or C-clamp style spreader because front pistons do not need to rotate to retract. Rear Calipers: Most modern Ford rear disc brakes feature an integrated parking brake mechanism. This means the piston must be rotated (wound back)...
  7. Grenadier rental review

The Grenadier's axles are sourced from Italy's Carraro, who is better known for farm tractor and construction machinery axles. https://www.carraro.com/en/media-news/technical-news/post/carraro-axles-ineos-grenadier
  8. Rear Brake Pad Service

Thanks Brian. On many vehicles, say Honda, if you push in the piston rather than turning it back in with the tool, you damage the caliber. And that's after screwing in the Torx bolt on the back side. (All that on Hondas although you have NOT actuated the electronic parking brake) If I use my...
  9. Rear Brake Pad Service

I just want to be clear on rear pad replacement. Thank you in advance for those with experience. Turn on maintenance mode. Unbolt the EPB (Electronic Parking Brake) actuator motor from the back of each caliber. Screw in (clockwise) the bolt on the back of the brake caliber with a Torx socket...
  10. Test drove a 2026 Badlands - do all Broncos have this much tire noise?

None of my Broncos (all SAS) have above average tire noise.........for such a vehicle. Perhaps a crossover, e.g. a non-Trailsport Passport or Pilot with all-season tires, would better suit your interior noise preference.
  11. Bronco Pickup Truck coming in future. Hybrid Bronco arrives 2027

They didn’t give the diesel F-150 a chance. Ford did not promote it. That engine, proven in the Range Rover for many years, is superb.
  12. Acceleration of 2dr 2.3L Sasquatch vs 4dr 2.7 L Sasquatch ?

With 300 horsepower on tap, complimented by the 4.70 RAR, my 2- and 4-door 2.3L SAS have abundant get up and go.
  13. Bronco Pickup Truck coming in future. Hybrid Bronco arrives 2027

My problem with the US market Ranger is the lack of a Tremor* and diesel option, and the discontinuation of the 6-foot bed. I just can't get anything done with the short 5-foot bed, whereas with the 6-foot I can make that work. I don't like the crew cab/5' bed configuration being forced upon me...
  14. Bronco Pickup Truck coming in future. Hybrid Bronco arrives 2027

I doubt it. With the increased weight of an electric motor, inverter, battery and other peripherals, that increases the curb weight within the GCWR equation. I personally don't like hybrids because you're carrying the weight of an internal combustion drivetrain PLUS the weight of an electric...
  15. Bronco Pickup Truck coming in future. Hybrid Bronco arrives 2027

Stroppe isn't limited edition (alike Heritage Limited with just a 1,966 unit build). The Stroppe 2-door should have been a 1,966 unit run and then end it.
  16. Bronco Pickup Truck coming in future. Hybrid Bronco arrives 2027

I don't think Ranger sales would be terribly affected. A Ranger can tow 7,500lb. However a Bronco only 3,500lb, due to the desire for enhanced articulation facilitated with soft coil springs. Surely the Bronco pickup will retain the rear coil spring suspension.
  17. Bronco Pickup Truck coming in future. Hybrid Bronco arrives 2027

Automotive News is worth paying for. Being in the industry, it's essential for me.
  18. Bronco Pickup Truck coming in future. Hybrid Bronco arrives 2027

Nobody. Another waste of time, money and effort.........alike Filson, RTR, Freewheeling appearance packages and endless Bill Stroppe editions.
  19. Bronco Pickup Truck coming in future. Hybrid Bronco arrives 2027

    Straight from Jim......it's happening.
