The launch itself was slightly delayed, but it was already COVID at that time, and the original plan was spring of 2021. I think they're ~3 months off their original plan if they start delivering in June.
The maximum benefit in Michigan is $662 a week. That's less than what I've heard Webasto is offering. I do wonder how Webasto pays compared to the UAW. If it's less, that could explain hiring issues.
I agree with you - while it sucks not having a build date at all, this still doesn't bode well for everyone else. What's a build date matter if they just keep moving it along?
After being a bit more than 50% sure I wasn't going to end up with a Bronco I started to get excited about it, again...
I'm going to calmly wait to see what they say. I hope you're wrong, but if it's a late build date that looks to spill into 22, or if it's extremely hand-wavy corporate BS with no end in sight, I know where to order a Defender. I have too much other bullshit to deal with and the sooner I know...
1) It's easy to be really chill when you have the earliest possible production week.
2) Is it a resin supply issue? Most of the talk is quality control issues. Maybe both? If it's resin, how is Jeep still getting hard tops? Maybe some communications that aren't just mysterious notes to the...
I disagree. They released in the middle of a pandemic, so that was a known thing for them, and after the first 24-48 hours, they were well aware of the level of interest in the Bronco, so also plenty of warning. As far as Webasto / supplier issues - it still falls on Ford. Iv've worked for a...
This is some of the Deepest Ford Blue Kool-Aideiest of Kool Aide posts I've seen around here, and that's really saying something. I think Jim Farley could slap you in the face and you'd thank him and ask for another.
Delays after delays plus "priority builds" and finding out reservation...
The Detroit Free Press has reported on the delay. Interestingly, they quoted Ford as saying "Ford has said the overwhelming demand will, in fact, push some orders into next year."
So you see, it's all our fault for the delays and not terrible planning on their part. If only we hadn't been so...
It's already been delayed from the original "spring 2021" release. My current vehicle isn't working for my needs (size/space/capability) - how much of a sucker would I have to be to keep dealing with that when there are other options available? I can assure you if I actually get a Bronco I won't...
I agree - I like how they look and they drive so nicely. I've been looking around at Defender forums and I'm starting to feel like they've worked out a lot of the early issues (mostly software-related), so I'm getting less concerned, at least for as long as it would be under factory warranty...
If I get pushed to '22, or possibly even really late this year (which is seeming disturbingly likely), I'll move on and get my first non-Ford. I'm trying to hold out but at some point I have to make a decision because I need something else. I know "need" is probably a strong word, and while my...
