We live in a world where stuff breaks and wears out. Nothing is perfect. Even our brand new Toyotas have had issues. I've bought well over a dozen new vehicles over the years...
You'll probably be fine.
Seems like a strong reaction... There will be particles in oil especially break in. As to what that piece of metal is / was... there is no way that passed through the block. Likely either from the filter or machining at the housing.
I think people are crazy to not perform proper motor...
I guess that's what I was referring to... less popular, quieter and nicer lakes (not pond swamps) to camp at. Cali locals have not been the friendliest and rather abusive of rules. Sierras are still worth the effort as the terrain and beauty is unbeatable.
Goodyear tires are junk for anything off road. Ours lasted about 300ft off road in Arizona. Sidewall damaged. Don't bother with them if you want to off road. Sell or scrap them.
BFG KO3 is a great replacement tire for all around. 3 ply sidewall. 3 peak snowflake. Quality tire.
We've been running the Nitto 37x11.5R17 for just over 2 years and 30k miles. My experience has been the narrower profile does slide laterally off obstacles more readily than wider tires (regardless of tread pattern or air pressure). However, narrower profile tires have noticeable better...
Exactly. It's a shop issue.
Most shops either do not have proper equipment or don't know how to balance oversized tires. These tires are not the same as car tires.
I've seen tons of issues with shops including not removing all the old weights before re-balancing or mixing weights...
Barrett Lake is one of our Favs
Our Raptor did fine. Drove in, hiked to the crash, swam in the lake and drove 80% out in a day solo. Exited before 9am the following day before a group of 20 clogged up the entrance. It's tough but great fun.
Looking forward to doing it again. :)
KO3 35x11.5R17 is possibly the most ideal size for width, diameter, weight. Keep in mind a Sasquatch comes with the narrow 35s factory (same gearing as badlands).
More of a tire shop issue than tire issue (from what I've gathered). People say the same about the Ko3 (newer replacement) but just not the truth. It's all about the shop, their ability and equipment.
Chalk is a BAD way to set tire pressure!
Tires are designed to carry certain loads at certain pressure. This is especially true at higher speed 50mph or more.
In general higher ply count tires will need more pressure for the same load.
Tire blowouts are most often due to tire pressure being...
At the same time nobody provides actual data on cooling... we monitor our temperatures and have had stock and aftermarket intercooler.
Just sharing real world observations. Nobody has proven different.
Waste of money. Anyone who says different is selling something...
It will only show gains on Dyno or drag strip. Anything else in the real world like: traffic, off road or towing may actually be worse.
I've observed the larger intercooler is slightly slower to heat soak. As in not a game...
Having hacks rip apart your truck seems a bad plan... Fix it yourself and move on. Not really "free" when you consider the time, loss of vehicle and frustration.
