Took the Bronco north of the border for the first time, and immediately met another A51. Proud new owner of the 4-door Outer Banks is Bob of Magog, Quebec. Funny how the same color looks different 9 months older and a little dirtier.
Took advantage of a rare (for New Jersey) February day in the mid-60's. Popped the top off and hit a section of the Trans-NJ Trail. Most of NJ looks more like this than the airport and turnpike.
I can hear my dad yelling at me “don’t run below a quarter tank! The dirt on the bottom of the tank will get into the engine!”. Still, I once squeezed 400 miles out of a tank in my old guzzler Jeep Liberty. I swear there couldn’t have been more than an ounce of gas left…
Thanks everyone for keeping this thread current- the noise started in my non-Sas Big Bend 5 days ago. Exactly as so many have described. I’ve updated the spreadsheet and will follow up after my service appointment on 1/31.
I'm with ya Gnomad- I really miss having a CD player, for all the reasons you and others mention. Insert CD- Listen for an hour or so- no plugging in/typing stuff into phone- no internet or Wifi issues- and sound quality IS better than FM/satellite/Spotify.
I finally gave up and subscribed to...
Perfect- you nailed it. Your DIY version looks more authentic than Ford’s. Love the grille, wheels and hubs.
Your “compromise“ was really an opportunity in disguise. I have a hunch there’ll be more such options in 2023 for those willing to look around and be flexible.
Thanks for the tips, folks. The hardest part was disconnecting the seat sensor cable.
I'd accidently dropped some loose change between the center console and passenger seat. Of course it went down to the floor, into the carpet cutout for seat mounts, and under the carpet- where it no doubt...
The whole silver/black scheme is really attractive! The Fifteen52 wheels are perfect. Remind me again of the size and offset you chose, and your impressions of ride, handling & cornering vs. stock?

What's better than a Bronco? Lots of Broncos! Another shot from November 5:
Nice! I saw the white cue ball shifter on a high-end Mustang in the showroom, and thought it would look great in my Bronco.
What material is it made of?
I’m still working that out- last week I put the handles between the rear seats and the blades where the front passenger’s legs would go, to avoid leaving stick tape marks everywhere.
I guess we need someone to produce Bronco hockey stick bags? 😄
Two door Big Bend passes the “hockey bag test” just fine, without folding the rear seats down (another reason I picked the Bronco over a 2-door Wrangler). Perfect height for loading and unloading, too. Drives to/from the rink will be better than ever.
Started hockey season in style. 2-door Big Bend fits my equipment bag without folding down the rear seats- another reason I chose it over a 2-door Wrangler.
“IT” is everything I want in a vehicle:
2 doors (like any good sports car),
Manual transmission (a good one, not a junky econo-car job),
Convertible (but not one where my behind is only 12” off the road),
4-wheel drive (to get me through any unfavorable road conditions),
Commanding view of the...
